Gardens on TV

We’re in luck this evening, with a visit to The Lost Gardens of Heligan on the “Devon and Cornwall” programme at 8.00 on Channel 4 (Heligan well worth a visit … I’ll be watching with a lump in my throat as I loved going there with Steve).

Also the wonderful Coton Manor gardens are featured at 9.00 on Channel 5. Enjoy!

Thanks Sheila, I didn’t realise until you’d posted. Looking forward to watching! I did live visiting The Lost Gardens several years back, absolutely amazing - have lots of great recollections and photos. It’ll be quite emotional for you..but, lots of lovely memories too, Sheila. Xx

Thanks Kate and Julia xx I’ve been lucky enough to visit Coton Manor several times … one of the loveliest gardens in the country. Maybe you’ll agree?!

We know both Trebah and Heligan well, both special places to visit. Glendurgan is next door to Trebah and equally lovely. I hope you enjoyed the programme, Sheila.

Sheila, that's very helpful to know of these TV progs. I shall find them on 'catch up' at some point. We have visited Trebah Gardens twice, not sure I could walk back up from the beach these days though!

Thank you Julia, Ange and Shirley. I’ve also enjoyed several visits to Trebah and Glendurgan because we were in Falmouth every year. I love the shops there too!

Oh buttons Sheila, I missed your blog and the program!
It's years since OH and I visited The Lost Gardens... and we loved it!
Unfortunately we haven't got 'catch up' on our TV at the moment...let's hope they repeat the program soon.

I missed it too Waddy, but will try to find it on catch-up or whatever - not tech minded really!

Don’t feel too bad Waddy and Honey! The Heligan part of “Devon and Cornwall” was mainly about the making of the wildflower meadow; as for Coton Manor, you’re just going to have to try and visit it one day … 🙂.

Thanks Sandra, yes, I was lucky to be introduced to Coton Manor by our garden design teacher. They run occasional courses too and I went to hear John Massey, and on another day Anna Pavord. I took my gardening group some years ago and we were given a lovely lunch in a private room … when I tried to pay they said “oh, yours is free, you’re the organiser!” Happy days 🙂.
