Succumbing to purple!

I’m delighted with my recent purchase of Lythrum (Loosestrife) from Crocus plants … so rarely have I received mature plants in full flower. By accident, I ordered 6 instead of 3, but that’s no problem at all!

Japanese Anemone, one of the ‘Swans’

Petunia Tidal Wave with Viburnum rigida

Favourite Salvia Cerro Potosi, in amongst Gaura and Abelia

Corncockle Ocean Pearl

It’s good to be enjoying the sunshine before the rain (forecast for the next few days) :(

Happy gardening!

Lovely collection there, Sheila. It feels very pretty and cottagey too. The colours compliment perfectly. Yes, lovely day here too. Warm sunshine!!! Making the most of it.

Lovely photos of your plants Sheila, and your corncockle is beautiful, I have never seen one before.

Glad you have sunshine too Kate, and thanks for your lovely comment.

Many thanks Callie … I love that corncockle too - puzzling that it’s not more common.

I loved your purple Loosestrife Sheila and I only have the yellow one. Crocus is a good company as I have used it a few times and my plants have always been a good size.
You have a lovely collection of plants and I haven't seen a Corncockle for years.

Thanks very much Rose. Corncockles do seem to be less common nowadays, which is a pity.

Lovely Loosetrife Sheila, such a vivid magenta colour. I've the wild one popping up all over, but the bees enjoy it. I do like your purple and whites together.
The other day (still in pjs!) I was bent over looking at your Cerro salvia and in flew the Hummingbird Hawkmoth right in front, in and out of the flowers, I couldn't move, then with a buzz against my ear it was gone. x

Thank you Janey. How exciting was that … lovely to see moths close-up in daylight. I’m also often in the garden first thing in my dressing gown! X
