Easter Monday highlights

Enjoyed a lovely sunny morning … made a nice change. We have cheering blossom in both the front and back gardens, but my attempt at photography was as random as ever. The Prunus Tai Haku didn’t some out properly, and nor did the Prunus Autumnalis … you’ll just have to take my word that they are looking lovely!
Amelanchier
Ipheon
Shrub Amelanchier
Pieris Forest Flame
Sorbaria Sem
New(ish) raised bed with Acer orange dream, Loropetalum, Uncinia, young Hakenochloa and infant Erysimum … I love it!
Hope you have all had a happy Easter weekend.

Thanks very much Janey for your kind words, and glad you are having sunshine too. I think the Pieris has never looked so vivid before … perhaps it likes the shade. Yes, my garden does keep me smiling 🙂. x

Lovely colours. I love the Sorbaria & the Pieris. Glad you have had a sunny day. We need them. A bit mixed here in Surrey but it hasn’t rained, (it did try though)!

Thanks Josee. Rain was forecast here, but it hasn’t happened so far. I think we’re in for a wet week though …

I love the bed with Orange Dream. I found it to be a fast growing Acer, and it will be wonderful there!

Thanks Karen, yes it’s lucky how well the colours look together.

Lovely blog, Sheila! Your garden is definitely alive with Spring blossoms and colour!!! Your Pieris has that wow factor. I hope you enjoyed some good clement Easter weather! It's been pretty nice here too, until today. But, good weather predicted for the next few days!!! Happy gardening!

Thank you Kate, it’s my favourite time of year and yes, we were lucky to enjoy quite a sunny weekend 🙂.

Definitely the WOW factor Sheila, we have been getting spells of sunshine but the wind and rain in between hasn`t been kind to my magnolia more petals carpeting the floor than on the tree. In fact its becoming rather dangerous to get up the front pathway without slipping.

Thanks Phyl. Please don’t slip on your magnolia petals! Fractures take longer to heal at our age, and after crashing down on black ice EIGHT WEEKS ago, I’m still wearing a splint … gardening with my right hand is ok though 🙂.

Sheila, it's good to hear you are still on the mend & that you can do some gardening - even if it is one-handed! 👍

We have your brighter weather this afternoon Sheila, after a rainy morning.
Your shrubs are looking really lovely. I keep meaning to look for an Amelanchier and the Ipheon Spring bulbs, they're on my wish list.
Look at your Forest Flame, what colour! I'm hoping my new one will grow as well as yours.
You must be so pleased with your garden. x
