I bought some small plants from a family run nursery to fill two manger baskets and a small wooden wheelbarrow.

I have to say I’m really pleased with the quality of the plants …

The baskets are planted with Calibrachoa ‘Can Can Coral Reef’, Petchoa Beautical ‘Caramel Yellow’, Begonia Fortune ‘Apricot Shades’, Nepeta ‘Grannilocks’ and Helichrysum ‘Gold’.

From this …

To this …

The wheelbarrow contains just one Argyranthemum ‘Vanilla Latte’ with some trailing Petunia F1 ‘Easy Wave Blue’.

It has been a warm and sunny day for a change … rain forecast for tomorrow and the next day.

They look wonderful. Well chosen Shirley. Tomorrow should be dry here, which will be the only day this week. Just as well as I have 30 visitors coming as a party for lunch!

Oh yes! I don’t have my garden visitors inside, except to use the loo.

They are lovely. You bring these things home and wonder if they will ever produce the display that you envision, but yours have, amazing there is only one plant (and the Petunias) in the barrow.

I really do appreciate all of your comments ... many thanks!

We had one massive downpour before lunch and it's light drizzly rain now (14.25) ... when will the sun shine for more than just the one day? :o(((

Beautiful display,Shirley, and I also love the Vanilla Latte, against the Blue Petunia..such a great combination..I love Calibrachoa, and have been buying them for approx three years now..I think they were previously known as 'Million Bells '? I managed to overwinter a few indoors this year..:o)

Amy, I am constantly receiving e-mails from Wyevale with their so-called offers ... still too expensive for me!

I agree with you Hywel.

Thanks Hb, I like your description of 'earthy colours' ... :o)

Sandra, you're right about the old Million Bells name, clever you with overwintering some ... :o))

They look a treat Shirley, its good to have a change from the norm at times, your manger looks so colourful, bright and cheery, the wheelbarrow is also looking lovely, good choice of plants, we have a local nursery, also family run, its a treat to go there..

So pretty Shirley nice to have some long awaited colour in our gardens x

Sue, I was unsure of the basket colours at first but am chuffed to bits with them now. The wheelbarrow came from OH's Auntie Joan after her passing. I just e-mailed a pic of it to her daughter up in Edinburgh, she likes it as well, phew!

San, it certainly is good to see some colour, pity the sun isn't shining on the flowers very often ...

Its great when things live up to your expectations Shirley and these certainly have ... love them both.

Oh hello Phyl, thank you for your kind words. I have just watered both baskets as they dry out so fast. High temps forecast for the rest of the week ... may have to water morning and night!
