A seaside Lockdown walk

This morning we took a short drive to a local beach, drank our take-out coffees in the car and then walked along the foreshore.

The tide was out, the sea was calm and we just needed some sunshine to make it perfect! At eleven degrees it was so mild, barely a breeze, which explains why so many others were enjoying the beach too!

It seems that some fishermen had been digging for bait, Lugworms a’plenty for them. Perhaps these young lads were doing the same …

Plenty of blue pots for collection later in the day.

As far as the eye could see there were folk out walking, many with their dogs having a great time on the sand!

The sun appeared on the horizon, very briefly, just as we were leaving.

Thanks for taking a seaside stroll with me!

Lovely Shirley ... wasn’t it great to have such a mild day for a change?!

I really miss the sea especially Seaburn in Sunderland where I grew up.
I enjoyed joining you on your walk immensely.

Thank you for sharing, Shirley. I enjoyed ‘getting out in the fresh air and taking in the all the seaside views’..

Are all those people paddling, shoes off?

It all looks perfect and so very relaxing, glad you had a lovely time.
When we went to the coast last week there were a lot of people out and about too. A children's playground was very crowded indeed and lots of families were enjoying the beach.
Hoping for more days like it!

Sheila, I can't believe how the temps have climbed in the past few days and hope it stays that way!

Sbg, I really missed seeing the coast when we lived in Chesterfield, Derbyshire many years ago and know just what you mean.

Glad you enjoyed the walk, Kate and hope you are feeling a little better now ... :o)

No paddling barefoot Siris ... it's just an optical illusion ... probably because the tide was going out and the sand was still very wet.

Chris, I hope Boris and co. release some positive news later today ... folk definitely need some!

It looked so relaxing Shirley! We do that quite often, but just sit in the car as it has been too cold for Rick in the wheel chair. Its just nice to get out and we even found an icecream kiosk open !

We've not been near the sea in at least 18 months so it was good to see your beach stroll!

With the warmer days I've been itching to get out on the balcony but knowing how treacherous February can be I've held off on the temptation of sowing seeds & repotting some plants that really need it.

Well done Rose - did you have a '99' from the ice cream kiosk?

Thanks Balcony, I did help my OH for half an hour outdoors today but my feet were frozen by the time I came back in!

Lovely! I'm itching to get down to the beach again but its four miles and we have been very obedient and stayed in the village for ever... It looks very cold though...

Great walk, thank you. Lovely light in the last pic. Now we are gradually being set free, it will interesting to see what it's like over Easter!

Flagged the Canon message just now.

I flagged it as well Shirley! And yes we did have an icecream, it was lovely!

I have flagged it too.

I just looked back at the comments and am pleased to say the long-winded one I flagged has been removed. Thanks Dave!!

We're longing to get out and about again, we've not even been to Rutland Water and thats only 5miles away, unfortunately its across the county line so wasn't worth taking the risk of getting stopped, lovely photographs Shirley, I'm glad you enjoyed your day....

Thanks Sue, we are within walking distance of the sea, but it's too far for me to walk both there and back! Like you, I long to get out and about, especially to the countryside of the South Downs. One day soon, I hope . . . :o)
