Hyperactive Robin!

Yesterday I heard a tap-tap-tap on the patio doors to the lounge and was more than surprised to see a Robin trying to land, unsuccessfully, on the outside door handles.

He ended up bashing into the glass, a little concerning, so I went out to find him flying from pot to pot, then landing on an obelisk but always coming back to the doors.

He’s back again this morning, doing the same tap-tap-tapping again!

While I was outside I saw that the Rose ‘Perennial Blue’ gifted by Karen some years ago, is blooming once more. It really is a smashing Rose.

We had some heavy rain overnight so I’m feeling smug as I mowed and edged the lawn yesterday!

Perhaps the poor Robin saw itself in a reflection & was "attacking" the "intruder"! They can be very aggressive with other males that enter their territory!

A lovely story whatever the motive for his actions! 👍

Like Balc mentioned, maybe saw his own reflection, Shirley...
Lovely pics, such a sweet, although often pugilistic little guy! Keep us updated! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for all the comments ... Robin appeared mid afternoon and began tapping on the glass again! I find it quite strange behaviour and am less than happy with the mess it's leaving on the garden chair and table .. yuk!

Shirley, you could try taping something to the glassso he can’t see himself. Hopefully in a day or two he will stop being such a nuisance. The rose is looking. Dry healthy! I’m so glad you still have it. I used to grow it on my apple trees if you recall. So it went out when we felled them. But I always loved it and it flowers so prolifically!
