What are the odds? (to catch this these days)

Just went out for a walk to maybe take a couple of shots. Not much of a winter wonderland but a little hint of what maybe to come. Saw a couple of blokes with a camera and a tripod and thought well theres not that much snow!
Ambled around the woods in no particular hurry, had a look at the little stream etc, took a couple of average shots nothing special. Took my time, bit of fresh air.
Anyway, on the way back just coming back down the road over the bridge saw a couple more people and heard ‘its coming’. And just as I reached the bridge, almost on cue heard an unmistakable puffing sound.
scroll down : )
Whats all that smoke in the distance?
omg
well what are the odds

I love the steam train picture, theres just something very nolstalgic about them, and the snow just adds to it.

Thanks folks, well the way life is at the moment it wouldnt surprise me to meet a yeti in the woods! lol,
But I did one come across a large stag on a lonely country lane late at night, backlit with some misty fog. It just stopped and stared at me in the middle of the road and wouldnt move, one of those moments you never forget.
I was thinking of maybe sending the shot to a steam magazine : )
Just surprised me to not know anything about its arrival and be at the bridge just at that time, just in time.

Spent my childhood on steam trains, my dad was an engine driver..he also drove the train in the film Ghost Train! He used to tell us some hair raising stories about life on the plate. Thanks for the memories, Steve.
