Over the last 2-3 weeks while my computor has been out of action I decided to go for it and tackle the path that I hated in the front garden, as you can see it was just a straight line of 3 × 2 slabs.

So right then here we go Spinach for breakfast and get stuck in.

How come all this humping and carrying and I never lose any weight – I think I`m repeating here what Karensusan has said.lol.
Hubby had to go out at this point so couldn`t do photos of me breaking those slabs with the lump hammer ready to make a path with crazy paving.

Great fun going through and round the Archway a bit like a giant jigsaw. Quick drying cement mix was then brushed over and in before lightely watering and then watering again after 12hrs as per bag instructions.
After 2 days hard graft we have one finished path.

I took a couple of days rest and found some more broken slabs, lucky me bro-in-law and son came up with a few so I removed the Twilight green slate from the pathway disecting the garden and decided to grazy pave that as well, then the two centre beds were re-organised.

More Twilight green slate was purchased to go round the paving and the beds.

I must admit I found it rather hard going but well worth it and have promised OH that this is the last big project I do. In fact I have found it almost as hard to do this blog, some pics appear to download ok and then others just have the description.

Well, I think it was worth all the hard work. It looks very good. It's an interesting front garden with lots to look at. I love getting stuck in to a big project and making a difference. Sadly, I never lose any weight either.

I love your attitude Stroller, you are a girl after my own heart, I have times like that, when I make a decision and decide a change is needed, then I`ll get stuck in and alter it no matter how tough the task is.
I bet it was great fun hammering at those slabs, great way to get rid of ones demons, I like jigsaws so I also would have liked making the crazy paving, it looks good now but will be even better as you say when its weathered a bit.
Looks grand, well done.

It does make you feel good when you get such lovely comments. As you say Lincs all frustrations got rid of when breaking those slabs.
Don`t think I have any energy left for hiring out Sticki.

Congratulations, Stroller for ... a) managing to post the blog (!) ... b) working so hard on this project ... and c) creating such a lovely front garden ... I remember your blog from November wondering about changing the layout ... it is lovely now ... and it may be an optical illusion but it looks bigger! ... Now will you just put your feet up for a change ... lol! :o)))

You've worked so hard Stroller but worth every aching muscle to get such a fantastic result, well done! It's funny how jobs like this sometimes evolve from their original plan as you go along and new ideas pop into your head. I quite agree that planning and posting a blog sometimes takes just as long as the project, sorting out which photos and what order is what gets me confused!

i have to write them all down lily2 ~ i have to resize everyone first as well cos they wont load otherwise!!

Wow what a differance it looked nice before but its brill now, well done you:o))

3 Sep, 2011

Me too Sticki, and in the order I want to upload them. I have to resize too which is a pain as I always forget to do it until I find GoY won't accept them!

3 Sep, 2011

Thats strange as most of my pics are really big..ive nver been refused?

3 Sep, 2011

Depends on the camera I think pixi?? When you load the picture it tells you the size you can use, I have to reduce the number of pixels on the pictures, to get within the limit.

3 Sep, 2011

Oh I ve no idea then lol I jsut take them wiht ym phone! Good camera is away in the the bureau somewhere lol

3 Sep, 2011

I set the photo settings on both my cameras in quite small pixel size, then they upload no probs! Where before they took ages and ages!

Thank you Lily2, Lulu, Clarice and Samjp your comments are very welcome.
Sticki the energy comes from all the spinach I`ve been eating, it was OH`s idea to put in perpetual spinach but when does it end.lol.

5 Sep, 2011

What a wonderful project. The end result is so much better than that straight old path Stroller. Now you can sit and admire your handiwork and feel really proud of your efforts.

9 Sep, 2011

Aren`t you a lovely lot with your encouraging remarks, it makes it all that much special, thank you.
