Taking after Grandma...

We had the delightful, but exhausting task of looking after our Granddaughter, Freya the other day. In an attempt to keep her entertained on a rainy afternoon, not fit to go to the park I got out my costume jewelry box. The result was almost an hour of ‘trying on’ As you can see she’s definitly going to be like her Grandma…into bling lol.

A girl has to be careful what she chooses

What do you think of this? Is it my colour?…

If I wear this as well am I over doing it?

I’m not too sure about this one…

And if it won’t go over my head..then it must go on my arm!

Oh dear..slight tangle…

So, what do you think?..no?

Ok, start again…

Does that look any better?

The problem is..when I lean forward..they fall off..

Oh bother,…another tangle..

Life can be hard for a girl these days you know…

Granddad and I certainly had a laugh..

Thank you Pamg.

She's 19 months now and soooo much energy! We were worn out when she went home and went to bed VERY early :)

Its a lovely age, my young friend brought her daughter over on bonfire night, she's 20 months and had such fun she fell asleep and missed all the fireworks, bless them xxx

It sure is. Freya went to her first 'proper' Bonfire this year, but wasn't keen on the loud bangs.

Nice to see kids enjoying themselves :o) I think she'll always remember those beads lol

How lovely! It looks as though they kept her entertained for ages! :)

Adorable. Looks as if she had so much fun. I looked after my two grandchildren for the day, when we stayed with them in America in July this year ...my OH was with me too. Cicilei was five & a half & her little brother was two & a half. What an exhausting day that was! In an effort to keep Cicilei amused, I introduced her to the collection of jewellery I had taken with me, & like little Freya, she put every single piece on at once, & then we pretended she was a contestant on America's Next Top Model ....makeup & all. We spent a long time taking photos & making the appropriate comments as she posed for the camera. Her little brother was kept amused taking photos too. We would have loved an early night! We actually did not get to bed until around 11pm, when I finally announced to my son & daughter-in-law that I would fall asleep on the sofa if I didn't head off to bed. We had been up since 6am with the children, & like Freya, they had kept us on the go all day. I had never been so pleased to see my daughter-in-law when she came home from work!

My goodness Dwyllis, I'm amazed at your stamina! Freya likes to have girly time with her mum and have nail polish on her nails. She's not into the makeup yet...but I've no doubt soon will be!

Lol .....we never get to bed nowadays until 11.30-11.45pm, in order to not get up before 6.15am to let our puppy outdoors for toileting. He's just 15 weeks old, so he cannot go longer than seven hours between pees. I'm off work with a herniated disc & sciatica at the moment, but when I work, I don't get home until 11.45pm, & my OH stays up until I am home, but probably dozes on the sofa off & on. However ....on my working days, I don't get up until around 8.30am, & if I have had a really tiring duty on the ward, I will sometimes sleep until 9.30. So getting up so early to the puppy is going to be really hard once I return to work. Thankfully, by 8.30 he is usually ready for a snooze in the lounge, & often sleeps for a couple of hours then, so hopefully I will be able to fall asleep on the sofa again while he is sleeping. It's like having a little baby in the house, but I'm not twenty any more! No more puppies for us after this guy, that's for sure!

Dwyllis, you're a sucker for punishment! How you cope with the pain you must be suffering and a puppy who is still being toilet trained beats me! We decided when we retired...no more pets. In the past we've had, cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, budgies...the list is endless. Now we only have our selves to worry about...although I must admit I think we'll succumb to possibly a cat (kitten) when we get older and don't set off quite so much on holidays and so forth.

Looks like Freya had great fun !
Lovely photos she can look back on when she's older !

What delightful pictures of Freya, she is a little cuties, can't wait for Isabella to get to this stage, they are such fun to be with. Seem all little ones have a fascination for Grandmas jewelry, even boys! I used to take my two to visit Grandma and they spent hours playing with her jewelry, darent tell them now though they would be so embarassed lol

Thank you everyone for you lovely comments.

Hywel, I'm sure she will

They certainly did Karen, for over an hour. Attention span at the moment is that of a gnat so this was quite an achievement!

She did Terra, and at least I can show her these when she gets older without too much embarrassment!

Thanks Pansy. I agree with you, boys like 'jewels' too. Freya also likes playing with cars. I don't see the harm it's all part of developing.

Freya is gorgeous Waddy , the button box is another favourite but not until they are older :o))

My sewing box (old Choccy biscuit tin ) is a favourite too..all dangerous things removed..shame I have to untangle all the cotton reels :o)..He kept asking 'what's this..what's that'? and I said they were bits and bobs..so that's what he asks for :o)

Thank you Wildrose. Yes she was concentrating..very hard, bless her. I of course think she's gorgeous Amy..but then I'm just a bit biased.

I used to love playing with my Gran's sewing box too, Sandra. It always seemed full of 'Treasures' not a bit like mine!
