Friend on GoY

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to visit one of my friends from GoY. She lives in a country I would love to live in, but alas I’m not so lucky.
She and her lovely husband are the perfect hosts and I wanted for nothing and I was treated like royalty. As you can imagine, I was very sad when the time to leave arrived.
While I was there, we visited a number of places, from the local market to a day trip to Florence.
I thought some of you might be interested to see some of the many pictures I took while on my trip. I’ve now got my fingers crossed I shall be able to visit them again in the not too distant future.

The stalls in the local market were a riot of colour and as you can see, lots of choices too.

A typical street scene.

Florence market didn’t disappoint either. So much to see and so many ways to spend my money!

The touristy bit lol!

The legend is that if you rub the snout of the boar, you will return to Florence.

Fantastic leather handbags…well I was forced wasn’t I?

More touristy stuff.

This my friends neighbours house. I think it’s delightful and I love their collection of old farm tools and the way they have displayed them, don’t you?

A couple of general views in the area.

And this was the view from my bedroom window. Is it any wonder I didn’t want to come home?

I know Karen, aren't I lucky? And to think if it wasn't for GoY we would never have met.

I certainly passed on your best wishes Sandra...and they were returned twice over.
I didn't succum to the charms of the Ponte Vecchio this time, although I have done in the past.So I've still enough left for a sarnie and maybe even a sticky bun lol!

I'm sure you won't regret the trip if you manage to make it Annella. Do it as soon as you can...life is too short to waste.

I LOVE their house and what a lovely time you must have had.
I hope the house smelt of our bees wax polish as your GoY has a large supply of it over there! All the photos are so interesting and created lots of local colour - thank you.

It wasn't my friends house WR, it actually belonged to their neighbour. Yes, there was a lovely smell of polish, which I assumed was beeswax.

Funnily enough, I've often wondered the same myself Carole. I wonder how we could find out what other friendships have begun here...not just via the Internet, but people who have actually met each other? ;/

I wonder who your friend is. I don't know of any Italian GoY members that come on here now.
Anyway, I'm pleased you had a nice holiday, and the photos go to show how you enjoyed it :)

Ah, not telling, unless I'm given the OK. You'll just have to try and work it out from the last pics of where she lives. She still pops in from time to time, but not as often as she used to.
