Thanks to nature and a very kind neighbour.

We have been away on holiday for nearly two weeks and when we got home we were worried about the state of the garden!
We were pleasantly surprised and it looked fine except for the need to mow the lawn and dead head a few roses.
The rainy days kept everything watered and my friend called in often to check everything and water the tomatoes in the greenhouse.
The following photos are a way of thanking her for all she did.
I did miss the garden when we were away but not as much as I thought I would!!
I think that a lot of our plants liked the rain that fell on them in our absence!
Everything seems to pop up where it wants to in our garden but we do try to have some control!
So with some things that have flowered already and others that are in flower now and others that are yet to flower, it is time for us to ’ take back control’ of our own garden once again……..now where have I heard those words before ?!
Just wish it would stop raining now! ☔️?☁️??⛅️?☀️

It is a problem getting someone to water if you go on holiday, so luckily the rain was useful, and you have returned to a colourful garden.

Thanks for the mention of the roses. Last year we had deer in the garden and they ate every rose just as it was about to open out. So far, this year has been a big improvement and has meant a lot to us.

What a lovely sight to greet you after your holiday,Chris.I think.your plants have had a party, whilst you were away, with no one to control them.! not always a bad thing,is it? :o) So glad the deer didn't trash your roses this year too..It's all so beautiful.:o) x

Good neighbours are very hard to find, especially gardening ones....we have to rely on our daughter, who is marvellous....
So much better to come home to a well watered garden, rather than a hot dried scorched one.......it all looks really pretty, a proper country garden...

A wonderful garden to come back to ... don`t control too much everything looks so natural and comfy in its space ... and great to see the roses performing so well.

So pretty. Envy you all that colour. What would we do without good neighbours, eh? Ours feeds the cat and we look after her chickens.
Always glad when we're told it's raining so the neighbour doesn't have to do any watering.

Looking lovely Chris . . . and I should say 'snap'.
We have also just returned from two weeks away, and our garden was cared for by our neighbour. He has just popped round and confessed that the only things he had to water were the hanging baskets - nature's rain did the rest!
