In between the April showers.

A glimpse of the garden today under sunny skies with a few threatening clouds.

It is still a lovely time of year.

The first picture is of the jasmine in our porch. It had drastic pruning last year, much to my dismay, but it seems non the worse for it now! Other photos are just general views of the garden.

The pond has been cleared too and is full of toad spawn – what a pity I am not very fond of frogs and toads!

The flower bed to the right of the path has been newly planted with roses, lavender, catmint mainly but a row of polyanthus has been left by the lawn. The path now requires more gravel to smarten it up.

Lots of pretty blossom to enjoy but this year our cherry tree had none at all. I blame persistent cold winds.
Last of all is our rusty bird bath by the kitchen door. I guess I could get away by calling it ‘vintage’ or ‘shabby chic’ but nevertheless it is definitely rusty!!!

It all looks great. Can practically smell that jasmine. It's certainly doing well.

Your garden is looking great. I wish I had toad spawn, I like toads. Unfortunately I killed my toad by stabbing it with a fork, turning over my compost bin. Not seen any frog spawn either, but there are frogs and newts in my pond.

Your garden is looking really pretty, a shame you don't like toads, we love them, but never see any....we have one frog at the moment......Looking forward to seeing your new border when the roses open....

Your garden looks lovely and so does your bird bath. Last year I was looking for something ornamental for the garden. There is a place along the main road that I went into to have a look. They had things like your bird bath and they wanted lots of money for them so it's a heirloom ?

What a beautiful garden. Exactly as you would expect a cottage garden to be, and the colours are glorious.

I'm playing catch up in my garden again but I just want to sit and look at your lovely peaceful spaces. I do like that dark pink apple blossom with the dark foliage.

Things are looking good and your Jasmine is amazing. Sadly mine didn't make it through this last winter. I understand you not liking frog and toads, but think of all the slugs and snails they'll eat.

Your garden is certainly showing many signs that Spring is here ... :o)
