A touch of the blues

Not a hint of Ella Fitzgerald here, or a hint of sadness either just quite a lot of blue ( and mauve ) in our garden at the moment …….come and see!

Down on the veg’ patch is a mass of forget-me-nots.

q

On the bank and dotted about the garden are lots more!

Bluebells have also spread themselves about and are looking their best at the moment.

Heavenly Blue looks pretty in a pot.

The wisteria by our back door is just coming out and it’s scent is so delicate now.

Erysimum is in flower on the bank and in some of the beds.

And today the lilac came into flower too. What a lovely month April is!

I did pick one spray of it to enjoy its scent indoors!

Take care, everybody.

How lovely ,I'm quite envious of all your blues I had to leave so many behind when we moved , I have a baby Lilac tree with buds I'm hoping to get something from that ,the only Blue bells in this garden are Spanish we've been ruthless and have dug them up .. your garden looks so pretty ....

Lovely Chris, I wish I was successful with wisteria. Tried and failed..
Love the blue and lilac hues in your spring pics.

You definitely won't feel 'Blue' in your garden, with all those beautiful plants around you,Chris..I can't believe your Lilac is in flower already, and your Wisteria is going to be wonderful..The Erysimum,is looking good,I wouldn't be without mine, and so easy to take cuttings from too.I love the forget me nots, even though they are spreaders, but in a nice way..I'm sure self isolation with all those around you ,is not too bad at all ! :o) x

Thank you to all of you.

Today for the first time in weeks I really want to see a different 'blue' - the blue of the sea! However, I must be patient and wait for that treat!

Cheered me up no end Chris - really enjoyed your 'blues'.

Today is day 38 of self isolation for me and I was desperate to see something different, other than on the local walks we take daily. Michael and I drove to the local farm shop,I waited in the car while he got 2 grow-bags and a bag of compost and then drove down to the beach. I cannot tell you how good it felt to sit and watch the little waves coming in and some dogs playing in the sea. You don't appreciate what you've got until it's not accessible very often.

What beautiful 'blues' Chris. I love Forget me knots, and Richard is particularly fond of Bluebells. Did you plan the colour or did it just materialise? That's what usually happens in my garden!

I love blue in a garden, my forget me nots are allowed free reign as are many others, its not really organised and yet it seems to work for me, why mend something that sn't broke is my motto, lovely blog and photographs...
Stay healthy and safe W'rose...

Shirley, I too got to see the sea on Saturday and it was wonderful - all that space around me!
Rose - I am very good at sitting I can promise you!
Waddy - no planning whatsoever, it just happened!
Lincslass - our garden has many plants that 'roam free' too!

Stay safe everyone.
