Rosemoor's Winter Garden Today.

Lots of colour and soft scents on the air today at Rosemoor Gardens.
These are all growing in an area known as the Winter Garden.

Rhododendron

Daphne about to flower

Mahonia

Camelia

Sarcococca

Twisted hazel

Hamamelis

There were also nice water features and statues in the same part of the garden.

I did like the bark on this betula tree

I also saw heathers, hollies and hellebores but didn’t get photos of those as we were in a bit of a rush!

Finally I would like to wish all of you……….

Sorry, this picture is highly inappropriate for the mild temperatures we are having today!!!

I couldn't believe how early some of the plants were flowering, especially the Rhodies and the camelia!
Ours don't flower until early spring! xxx

Hello everyone and thank you for looking.

Another BIG surprise I had, as we were driving along near Instow, Bideford.........by the side of the road on a neat grassy patch were clusters of daffodils all in flower! I could not believe my eyes!
29th December only!

So much interest there, it must have been wonderful to walk around it in mid winter ...
Happy new year :)

Glad you had a wonderful day out at Rosemoor Gardens! Lots of lovely plants to see & in flower! 👍

The beautiful peeling bark on the Betula was a joy to see! 😃

Less than an hour of sunny intervals for us here but the day was certainly milder than it has been of late.

How true Chris! This is really like one big extra family!
I can't believe daffodils were flowering ! It has been warmer here but no signs of any spring flowers at the moment!
I wonder if we will suffer for it later on! xx

Looks like the fairy is dressed in willow leaves and is even hanging on to the leafed stem of a willow tree to keep from falling in while testing the waters. Very whimsical. Just to add... one of my Clematis is up an running and is trying to grab hold of my mailbox post and daffodils are sprouting everywhere. The weather on the east coast of the USA is unusually warm. Thank You and have a healthy and happy New Year.

Lovely blog, Wildrose. Amazed to see that Rhododendron in flower. There is an early one R. praecox, but it's not a bit like that. So much interest in the winter garden. I love the Birch branches also. Happy New Year to you too.
