mid-July Flowers

It still doesn’t feel like summer. The temperatures are very slowly rising, but there are a lot of clouds and rain. Statistically, July is supposed to be the driest month. The flowers are also going crazy.
One of my registrations is ‘Pico da Vigia’ (Lookout Peak). Normally it looks like this:
But a 5 petal flower opened:
Then today, I got 5 flowers on the same stalk open at the same time!
One that I like for its muted colors is (Etched Eyes x Dragonfly Tattoo):
If you like a light purple and yellow combination, there is the very open (Star of India x Dragonfly Tattoo).
There has been an interest in flowers that have spotting, and I have a DIP of unknown parentage.
My Crepe Myrtle is in bloom on a bush that is about 6’ tall.
And the Fuchsia boliviana Alba:
A weed is also in bloom – the invasive Crocosmia x crocosmiflora. I keep pulling it up and it keeps returning.
This year I am also growing pumpkins, ‘Jack Be Little’, and they have been trained up bamboo poles, so they hang from the vine instead of laying on the ground.

Nice day lilies. I like them all.
We have a warm weather and no rain since May on south Vancouver Island. It was pouring rain all April..
Not unusual. Seems same every year.
I do the same with my Montbretia. Not easy to get rid of.
What do you do with your cute pumpkins Wylie?

Lovely flowers Wylie.

The little pumpkins are useful. You take the top off and use the flesh to make a soup or combine it with other things and bake it inside the shell, and serve a whole little pumpkin.

Love the Star of India Wylie. Have you registered it?

It is on the list of possibles. I have to give it a couple of years to settle in to its mature form.
