They are beautiful aren't they Arlene. I have an awful lot out now & potted up for selling. It's exciting waiting to see what the seedlings are going to turn out like.

Pam it's great waiting to see what they will be like~ there is a mauve one with lots of petals with touches of green that hasn't opened fully yet and looks like an anemone~ really pretty!

They are smashing Arlene, I have only one in my garden which still hasn`t flowered for me but at least its still there...Over the years I have bought plants and lost them, begged, borrowed and even stolen seed heads to no avail ,so I`m envious.........

Mine are all in pots and get put round the front of the house where it is sheltered over the winter` they don't like to be soggy or in a cold wind.

Thanks everyone~ I'm happy to spread the word~ will convert you all yet!
Hi Barbara
~there are some wonderful varieties turning up now with even people like Suttons advertising a purple picotee version~ just been out to check in the rain and when it opens will show a white with a maroon ring at the base~ I guess Richard Bramley of Farm yard would be green if he knew what I got from the batch of unnamed seedlings!

20 Mar, 2010

Lovely to see them all.

20 Mar, 2010

Too bad - they're yours now, Arlene! Enjoy them. :-)))

Realy lovely blooms, Arlene. The double cream one you gave me is in bloom again, but I on't know its name. ;-))

20 Mar, 2010

~ Neither do I David ~ ~ when I was at their open day last year and someone asked Richard Bramley why they were just called double torquatus Helleborus hybrids he said he had better things to do with his time than sit there thinking up fancy names~ so they are just labelled ~pink shades~apricot shades etc!
