Merlin.

My heart goes out to you Arlene, We've been through it and know exactly how you must be feeling. They leave such an enormous hole in your life which goes to show what a wonderful gift they are in our lives.

I'm so sorry to hear that Arlene. You'll find it very strange without him. I will miss seeing his pictures in beautiful Three Cilffs Bay.
But as you say he is at peace now. It's devastating to loose a good friend, but it is also very distressing to see them suffer.

Arlene, its very sad for you both, but you are so obviously a real animal lover that your first thoughts were to be so glad he is peaceful and painfree now. So you must have lots of lovely memories of happy times with him in the knowledge that you gave him a lovely life.

So sorry, to hear your devastating news. i am quite new to GOY so
did not see Merlin, but my heart goes out to you. This is the dreaded
time we hate about having our pets. and thats when you lose them.
God, has taken Merlin now, he is out of pain, and now in Doggie Heaven.

Oh! Arlene i said, i did not see Merlin, of course i did, it always shocks me
when i hear of someones loss of their devoted pets. Sorry, Arlene i did
not know that Merlin was that ill, you do not know what to say to
someone at this moment in time, to console them, you just cannot find

I am so sorry reading this Arlene, I have sent you a pm as you know we have lost Finn too. It is shattering, but we know they are safe and not in pain....I would like to think on the next stage of their journey, they have gone together............XX

~ I would like to thank everyone who has commented for your kind thoughts and sentiments ~ it does give comfort when it is most needed!
Merlin was a special little dog who loved to play,was very affectionate and was never a moments worry to us~
~ it's the end of an era in that we started out 11 years ago with two 5 week old puppies~ we had seen them and handled them from two weeks old and were allowed to have the pick of the litter~ since then we have had many laughs and loads of love from them both~
Magnum died from cancer 1 /12./2007 and Merlin has carried on with Harvey for company until last night~now finally reunited with his brother.
Harvey is moping at the moment having lost his buddy and mentor and we have not ruled out getting another boxer pup to keep him company~

I'm sure you and hubby have many years of wonderful memories stored away inside your heads and that is the best tribute and lasting memory that any little dog could hope for.

thanks everyone for all your lovely comments~it has been really odd not to see him sitting there or go hyper~ barking nonstop when we all went out together with him as a family ~he was so excited every time~but his last few days weren't good and better he went peacefully in his sleep than under medication.
