:-) inspired big time now!

Thanks, Marybells, the most difficult bit was getting the blocks and planks. Luckily my lovely son in law collected them for me and dropped them off this morning :)

:-) pleased to hear and just shows took no time at all to put together :-)

great blog. I love the planks on blocks - those "tiered plant stands" are usually only deep enough to get very small pots on.

that baby bird has got its parents well organised! if it's out of the nest it should be able to find food itself, but is obviuosly taking the easy way out

Thanks Fran & Holly. It's nice to sit and do nothing for a while but the sun disappeared as soon as I went into the garden with my ice-cream! Off to an open garden this afternoon - hope the weather perks up a bit :)

A good idea to show off your plant pots Gee ,It's all looking very professional , I could spend hours watching the young birds in our garden We have one young blackbird it spends a lot of his time on the ground waiting for me to go out with meal worms it worries me to death I have to keep going out to check on it as we have a big cat from a neighboring house which prowls the garden we found a disemboweled rabbit on the lawn today ,horrid !

I like you DIY stands, very effective and something anyone could put together.
Yes fledglings are a bit of hard work for the parents right now aren't they?

A very entertaining blog Gee, and some very good ideas for displaying your pots. I loved it.

Thanks, Fran, Amy, Scottish & Stroller. I've had another afternoon just sitting although I did have to get the shears out to cut that little patch of grass which is growing madly now :)

maybe the tortoise can do something about that ...

Well, I certainly wont be mowing it, Fran, I used my mower yesterday in the front garden and suddenly flames appeared out of the lead connection - a bit like being turbo charged! I was very annoyed as I only had one more strip to do - I think a new mower will be needed :)

I've just pm'd you regarding wood blocks :)

what a great idea for a plant stand! thanks so much for sharing this...i'm not fond of the manufactured ones..find they only take small pots...i'm going to be hunting the garage sales this year, for sure...i like the idea of being able to dismantle it if necessary....

I do like your plant stands Gee - I've had to resort to using a long stone trough (which I never did like!) turned upside down ... gave some height for pots with smaller pots in front on the ground. Love the photos of the juvenile Starling ... what a grim expression in the last photo of it! How frightening to have flames coming out of the lead connection ... :o(

It's a case of squeezing everything in, Scotsgran. In the past I have often wished I had a bigger patch but now I think I am happy with what I have :)

I know that feeling. The garden feels much bigger now you have worked your magic on it.
