It’s such a wet ,windy miserable morning here,so I felt in need of a bit of a lift…These were taken last November, whilst on holiday….This is their weekly Sunday market..so glad we picked the right day to visit..So many men buying flowers for loved ones..:o)
Arranging Gladioli….
Lovely Hibiscus growing on the streets….
hope it cheered you up too…:o)

Lovely , thank you , Bloomer .
I like the idea of an all male panto !
There is a wonderful flower market in old Nice on a Monday if ever you are there , somthing to behold . ( Sorry no pics though ).
Managed a walk in the pine woods near here before the rain set in ; the gorse is coming into bloom and there were some lovely scents in the air .

Lovely cheerful pictures Sandra. Love the roses.
18 Feb, 2012
Aw how lovely :)))))
18 Feb, 2012
Wonderful pictures Sandra to brighten such a dull wet day! can we really grow such beautiful flowers?, its hard to believe looking outside at the moment, but at least your pictures give inspiration and hope ;0))
18 Feb, 2012
Don't they do a heart good! Sorry I'm late to this, but I hope you had a lovely night...! Ooeer!
19 Feb, 2012
Lovely flowers so nicely arranged too, it was sunny one minute and heavy sleet showers the next here so not a good gardening day - again!
I hope the Panto lived up to expectations and you had a fun time :o)

Thanks to you all for your nice comments...
Sanbaz,so do I,it's a different atmosphere altogether,I agree.:o)...and glad you liked it too,Alex....and you too,Mark..wish we had the Hibiscus growing on our streets here ! Lol...Driad,we have never been to Nice, but will bear it in mind ,if we are lucky enough to visit.Glad you enjoyed your walk:o)....
I loved the roses too,Cinders..such a rich colour.....and pleased you enjoyed it too,Pixi....
Carole,it was nice in the afternoon here..but very cold..drove into a hailstorm early evening on the way to the Panto at Marsden...as you say,it will be great to see these colours again here:o)......Libet ,you are so right..a definite feel good factor...and so was the male panto ! Lol... .Neellan, you sound as though you had similar weather to us...I wish I could arrange flowers...a skill and artistic eye,I think..:o)
and as for the Panto ! just brilliant, as always...this was the 26th year of it,and this year it was called " Wind up the Willows " !!..Booked solid for all the 8 nights performances.. very funny..and a bit near the knuckle..but hey,if you don't like it,you don't go..simple as that..but not offensive at all though..all of them have great voices too..and the dancing ..just everything really...all enthusiastic Amateurs..can't wait for next years .:o)

Lovely pics, especially love the hibiscus, we're starved for colour here at the moment aren't we? Glad you enjoyed your all male panto bloomer, daughter Boo went a few years ago with a friend to see all male Swan Lake...loved it:-)
23 Feb, 2012
Sandra, I'm always on 'catch-up' as you know ... so pleased I saw these lovely photos ... when I read Cartagena I thought you'd sneaked off to Colombia! ... Remember the film 'Romancing the stone' with Michael Douglas ? ... Cartagena featured in it ... yet another piece of useless information retained in my head ... lol! ... :o)
23 Feb, 2012
Thanks Ba..I loved those too..I have a bit more colour after the lovely weather today,as all the crocuses have opened up,and the wallflowers are just starting..glad Boo enjoyed Swan Lake too.:o)
23 Feb, 2012
Lol,Shirley..right initial, wrong country ! :o)..I know you only come on here at certain times now,so it would be hard to see everything..I did see that film, but I didn't know that...so now ..if ever I'm on a quiz show, and it comes up ..:o)))
23 Feb, 2012
I've just commented to Joan that I'm about 5 days behind on blogs and there's no hope of catching up on the pics ... unless I stay with GoY for the next week lol! ... :o)
23 Feb, 2012
I am on here lots...as you know :o) but I still miss lots of things..no worries,we are all the same...glad you are feeling much better,Shirley...that is the most important thing to bother about..xxx
23 Feb, 2012
Sent you a PM, Sandra ... :o)

Hi, I am so delighted to have come acroos this website & your photo's. Maybe you can help me out....please.
I am getting married close to Cartegena in July this year & have been trying to source an English speaking florist. While there are a few, they are really expensive & the list of "must haves" is growing faster than any flower I have ever grown!!! We have visited this area a few times & it was the local flowers that I loved & want to use on my wedding day.
Can you tell me if there was anything like table arrangements etc available at the market ? Does anybody speak English ?
I think that in July there will be enough natural beauty in flowers growing in the garden so I would like to keep it simple.

First of all, welcome to GoY,Suzy, and thank you for your nice comment..and sorry to say,I am unable to help you..I wish I could...We were only there for day,as it was a port of call on a cruise...I didn't see any table arrangements, and as I didn't actually hear anyone speaking,I don't know if English was spoken, although most Spanish people do..unlike us,we are very bad at making the effort to learn their language...I do hope you can find out,if you visit again, and wish you a successful outcome..and a wonderful wedding in July...but thank you for getting in touch...Maybe some other members may be able to help you,if they read this...good luck :o))
