These were taken at 7.30 am,today..so pretty, but now all gone..Luckily,they were on the outside of the windows..!They reminded me of frosted plants and trees,so gave them names that I likened them to..
1..Herbaceous border..

2..Pampas grass plumes..

Conifers ..

Any ideas for this one ?
It would be interesting to see your interpretation of it…
sorry no prizes..! just something to pass the time.:o)

This is as it looks now,at noon….no ice or frost, and the sun is ready to come out…..isn’t nature wonderful ?

These are beautiful. What about ' mackerel sky' for the last one?

I would call that one 'gypsophila', such lovely photos B. hope you had your coat on? Lol.

The last one reminds me of Astilbe plumes lol
Brrrrrr :o( I can remember in the old days, waking up to see patterns like these on the inside of the bedroom window, and scraping it away so that I could see out. Thank goodness for double glazing lol

Those were the days Hywel! No central heating in our house either.

Yes, nature is wonderful . . . lovely pics and captions Bloomer. My thought for No. 4 was Daisy bush!

Used to like the 'Jack Frost' patterns on windows as a child in the days before central heating - but wouldn't be without it now!

One and three definitely my conifers on Saturday, two I also think pampas grass and number four saxifraga.
They are lovely pics Bloomer, have to say I`m glad it wasn`t on my windows this morning, I can remember breathing on my bedroom windows as a kid, also our house we lived in when mine were babies, those days were not good ones, washing indoors making the house even damper, coal fire to clean out and relay every morning, hopefully getting it going and the room warm before the babies were awake needing their baths and walking on the road in some roads in case the icicles fell from the gutters and cracked you one, lol....

THank you, everyone, some good suggestions there..and Gypsophilia seems to be a popular one..it's nice to see how we all think differently, but anyone of these would fit the bill..To say all 3 windows are facing the same way...(East) ,I couldn't believe that each window had a different design...wonder why that happened ? I have never seen them like this in the 10 years we have been here..but definitely not complaining.:o)....sorry to say the sunshine only lasted an hour,so it's dull, cold and miserable...yippee for the central heating..and a big pan of stew, simmering away...bliss ! Lol.

7 Feb, 2012

They say B. no two frosty patterns/icicles are the same, imagine that!

6pm tomorrow ,Bb ! I like to make a stew the day before..tastes much nicer ..but you will have to be quick as family coming ! ..

It is marvellous, isn't it Gmage ? Like having their own DNA .! :o)

Thanks Paul..glad you liked them..no problem ,it's just a pretty design anyway.:o)).

Great pics Bloomer and what a lovely variety of patterns :o))
I think I'll go along with Gypsophyllia too but I think maybe there's a brocolli head crept in there at the bottom centre! LOL

Thanks Terra..I didn't realise I would get so many varied responses for this one..I have almost got a new garden on my window ! Lol.

7 Feb, 2012

Well Sandra it's so nice to be an inspiration for something and how lovely for it also to be garden related in these months of gardening "desert"! :o) I haven't had any more window patterns yet but it's so cold tonight they may be some in the morning.

7 Feb, 2012

I was quite sad to see them melt,Lily..but I will keep a look out for more now..although I think we would both prefer sunshine :o)

7 Feb, 2012

Hello Bloomer

Love your pictures -what a great idea - I shall really be scrutinising my ice patterns now - No 4 looks like tiny daisies

10 Feb, 2012

Thank you,Marigold...I am amazed how many have commented on these,as I thought they looked pretty mediocre when I took them..but they do look better on here than on the camera :o)..just helps to pass these cold days on a bit..might as well tell it as it is ! Lol.
