Didn't you just love scrunching through them making a lovely rustle? Playing at trying to catch the leaves as they fall off the trees was fun too. Those little "angels" have years of leafy fun ahead of them to enjoy.

4 Nov, 2015

Still do love scrunching through them! :)

Great fun.....until you get home and find the creepy crawlers down your jumper.
I trust you took a black sack to collect leaves and make leaf mould!

Fabulous photos Sandra its lovely to see children having so much fun without a mobile or game pad surgically attached to them , I still kick leaves to :o)) PS I did a double take I thought Alfie had grown overnight Lol ... x

5 Nov, 2015

Definitely Amy,some are as bad as the adults ! Lol about Alfie..although he is growing fast now,but not Ashley's size yet ;o) Lots of leaves about now,so get out there and kick ! Just sent you an email xx

Lovely pics, such happy smiling faces.
Reminds me of happy autumn days spent with children & dogs in Thetford Forest, until we got home & found ticks attached to us all! Yuck!

6 Nov, 2015

Thank you Greenfinger..Happy days indeed..despite your nasty ticks :o(..I don't think there will be any leaf kicking for a while, now we have rain The leaves look soggy and horrible now..

6 Nov, 2015

Really liked seeing the images. Our children used to love to do the same and jumping in puddles!

Greenfinger: Ticks are on the increase according to the experts and the advice is to go for walks practically dressed in space suits. Can you believe it!
Until around 1969 we never saw a tick here on heathland.
They're here now!

6 Nov, 2015

Yes, Eirlys, it'll take a cold snap to curb them. They are active for longer when its mild so that could explain why there are more of them plus we are probably more aware too.

7 Nov, 2015

Boy does this bring back fond memories growing up with my brothers Sandra. We'd go to "Brookville Park" to play football, but invariable ended up rolling around and burying each other in all the leaves. Even my dog got in on the action.

9 Nov, 2015

Not only boys did this,Paul..We did too..:o) great fun for everyone..plus Football, and all other 'boyish' games..but I was useless at Cricket! :o)

9 Nov, 2015

LOL yes, my sisters also played football with us.

9 Nov, 2015

My mother would have had a fit,if she knew what we got up to..danger wise, that is! Lol Swinging on a rope tied to a tree, overhanging the river for one..oh,happy days :o)

9 Nov, 2015

Oh yeh! wasn't that the best fun? Sometimes we'd even go inside and explore abandoned houses or the local cemetery - we always thought they were haunted. Never tell mom!

9 Nov, 2015

ooh,Creepy ! I think the worst thing I did,and the most stupid..was jumping off the first floor bedroom level,of a new house being built, directly opposite ours..onto a pile of builders sand, after being promised a foreign coin from one of the boys..My dad saw me,but didn't dare shout,in case I fell..,That was the 2nd stupid thing,so near home.! I never did get the coin, but I got a lot worse from Dad..well deserved really :o)

9 Nov, 2015

that's classic Sandra, lol!

9 Nov, 2015

I wonder how I came to have broken my arm twice, and my leg,by the age of 11 ? not that time though..but all through daft things ..So accident prone, and mostly my own fault..but I live to tell the tale Lol !

9 Nov, 2015

I guess that's why we click. I broke my arm in a skateboard accident at 14. I flew through the air like superman until I hit the pavement. I was sidelined in gym class for the rest of the year. Somebody thought it was a good idea to give me a pet hamster - NOT!

9 Nov, 2015

I think Kids these days, aren't as foolhardy as we were,Paul..half of them don't play out much, for many reasons..Didn't you like your Hamster,or didn't you know how to look after it? I ended up looking after my daughters.he would never have been cleaned out otherwise..poor little Jaspar :o) We once had to take all the plinths off the bottom,of the kitchen units,as he found a tiny gap to get through..all the electrics were there..it could have ben another Big Bang day,if he had chewed any..he certainly liked chewing the corners of our carpet !

10 Nov, 2015

LOL you should write a book.

10 Nov, 2015

Lol,That has crossed my mind,Paul..even if it's just to show family,we were young ,back in the day :o)

10 Nov, 2015

I'm still a kid - still play football.

10 Nov, 2015

The things we got up to, eh! My ex & his friends used to make a raft by lashing old tyres together & go out onto the lake, none could swim - of course Mother didn't know! But then again, she once confessed she used to tease the tethered bull along with the other villiage children but her favourite was taking rides in the bucket down the well until one day the handle spun round & knocked out the boy operating it at the top & she was stuck down there for hours.

10 Nov, 2015

OMG! Teasing a tethered bull is really tempting fate. Then again, I did fall through the ice trying to shortcut across the lake while racing my brother.

10 Nov, 2015

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was a stupid kid,Paul and G.finger..I hope some other Goyers will see this, and tell us what they did :o)

10 Nov, 2015

I think that's should be a blog in itself - a GOY dump blog, lol!

10 Nov, 2015

Yes Paul...and what revelations we could read..or not ! Lol

10 Nov, 2015

Would give me palpitations if I thought my 2 had been up to such tricks - but these days you can't let them have such freedom.

10 Nov, 2015

I like hamsters Sandra, but that was not the time for one with my arm in a cast up to my shoulder for 4 months. Just going to school was a challenge enough.

10 Nov, 2015

I hadn't realised you were given it at the same time as you were incapacitated,Paul..I agree, not a good time.Someone didn't think it through ! :o)

11 Nov, 2015

Some good stories there. Lovely photos of the children enjoying the leaves. When I was a toddler I can remember putting my mothers keys on my dolly's arm and they dropped through a drain cover and mother had to reach down after taking the cover off to retrieve her keys. Another time I bought two mice from a pet shop home. A friend had made me a house for them. Mother went mad, she hated mice. I convinced her that I would look after them and keep them clean and I did. I used to have goldfish, newts, caterpillars and feed them until they turned into butterflies then let them go. I used to bring in all sorts of insects.
