BEST BITS OF MY GARDEN TODAY:-)

Thought I’d put some pics on of what I think are the best bits of my garden back and front. I did plan colour schemes for most of it, but it’s odd how mine never attain the perfection I hope for lol, still beautiful though …makes me feel like an artist:-)
First the front, everywhere will all look better in a couple of weeks:-)
Actually the first pic is on the back, but I’ve put it here to show you the lovely ready combination of plants which I bought from my fave on line bedding plant seller called PlantMeNow, I thoroughly recommend this company. The second pic is also a ready combination of plants from the same seller. I love them, all sweetly scented:-)

Now to the back:-)

Here is the pond, who is that Monet fellow?

Geranium Summer Skies gone mad again this year.

Colutea Arborescens full of flower again this year.

Please ignore if I’ve duplicated any, it’s very hot today lol:-))

My goodness BA, things are looking wonderful. I love the lilies on the pond, are they real? They look so perfect. My experience of online sellers is not to be repeated I'm sorry to say. Glad you've found one you can trust :)

I like the white mingle in the first photo Ba - and everything in your borders looks smashing - your water lilies put my one lonely one to shame!

Who needs Monet when we have BA in our midst :)
There is not a bad one amongst them BA - your planning is obviously working, it all looks pretty perfect to me!

You've got some gorgeous colour combinations there, Ba, just lovely to see. But the first pic took my breath away . . . I wouldn't have thought of putting Petunia and Verbena together (why ever not?!) but that is an effect I intend to copy! I LOVE trailing Verbena, and have pink and silver together in a dish with a burgundy Cordyline, but I now think that one colour but with different plant varieties looks more stylish :))

Hi Waddy, this is the best my water lilies have been. I no longer have fish and the pond has been allowed, more or less, to do what it wants. It's full of tadpoles which are hidden from the magpies by the pond weed. This is the second year I've used PlanMeNow, no weedy plugs, everything decent size, and as it should be, never lost one. I'll be using them again next spring:-)

I think letting my pond do what it wants has improved the waterlilies Shirley ....guess what I've got in my fridge? ..... plums! Time to start baking:-)

Thanks Scottish, I think it's like other peoples Christmas trees ... they always look better than mine lol:-)

Sheila, I'm really impressed too and they will look even lovelier in a couple of weeks or so when the white lobelia cascades down the side of the urn. The plants were already in one pot when I bought them so can't really take the credit there lol The funny thing is, I didn't know verbena and petunias were perfumed and what a sweet scent it is. I've gone a bit mad on verbena this year. Your pink silver and burgundy sounds lovely too:-)

Thanks, Ba - what lovely photos and your garden is a credit to you. :-))

22 Jun, 2014

Lol Ba - you and my plum cake recipe! Good to know you still make it though ... :o)

22 Jun, 2014

Thanks Barbara, still gaps though:-( Need a garden centre visit, I'm working on it:-) Did you notice the erigeron Karven... on the front garden? they musy be a good two feet across ....and yes ...they've had babies:-))

22 Jun, 2014

I'll be making one today or tomorrow Shirley, haven't had one for ages:-)

22 Jun, 2014

Just made a 'Shirley' cake too . . with peaches this time. Will take it along to the Fun Croquet Doubles and Strawberry Tea this afternoon!! (and sun cream, I'm glad to say . . . )

Ba, I love every little bit of your beautiful garden and your fabulous pots. The first white one is heavenly and the colours you use are so effective. The pond also looks so pretty and such a lovely place to be.

I shall just look at them all over again :-)

Perhaps I should give your supplier a try next year. ;/

Delightful gardens I love how you have done the front

22 Jun, 2014

Wow Ba.... you've definately got some gorgeous planting there! Going to have a look at your web sight. The first pic is stunning, and like you would never have thought to put that combination together.Who is this Monet fella??????

23 Jun, 2014

Sheila, your day out sounds fun and delicious:-)

23 Jun, 2014

Thanks Chris, I'm only showing the best bits:-) My garden's only small, but it is lovely to be out in this weather. The only problem is, I see weeds everywhere :-)

23 Jun, 2014

Waddy you won't be disappointed. I won't use any of the big ones like T&M after so many frustrating disappointments, but I looked at all the reviews before using PlantMeNow and they are all totally positive. Do you think they will give me commission?:-)

23 Jun, 2014

Thanks Drc, it's a lot easier without having to mow and it's given me more planting space:-)

23 Jun, 2014

Thanks Gralew, it is, as far as I know too late to buy bedding from PlantMeNow, but worth having a look at their site. We went to see Monets garden recently and his waterlilies weren't out ...not a patch on mine lol:-)

23 Jun, 2014

You're right about PlantMeNow's bedding, Ba. I have sent for their catalogue so that I won't forget about them next year! (Btw, Crocus.co.uk and Cotswold Garden Flowers are good websites too.)

23 Jun, 2014

I use both of those too Sheila:-) If I remember rightly there was a blog or something where people put on recommendations or vice versa for online companies, but don't know what happened to it:-)

23 Jun, 2014

That was ages ago, and I can't find it either.

27 Jun, 2014

Maybe we should start one again?:-)

27 Jun, 2014

Good idea!!:-)

28 Jun, 2014

Go on, then...

28 Jun, 2014

Beautiful garden....

28 Jun, 2014

Erm ... I was hoping someone else would:-))

28 Jun, 2014

Thanks Michaella, it's a bit battered today after the storms, but not too bad:-)

28 Jun, 2014

Wonderful pictures BA, you`ve certainly got the artist eye. I`ve always admired your back garden and now the front garden has come into its own. Its gone on to my favourites so that I can pinch some of your planting combinations.

28 Jun, 2014

Don't you mean 'Get inspiration from...' Stroller? lol.

29 Jun, 2014

Good grief Phyl, I'm really honoured, thank you:-)

29 Jun, 2014

Good grief Barbara, you don't think there'll be a digging in the night? :-))

29 Jun, 2014

Like Phyl, I've added this blog to faves too Ba - will happily look at your garden again and again :))

29 Jun, 2014
