Butterflies

Yesterday a friend and I took a trip to Butterfly World at Wroughton near Swindon. It was well worth the trip, the butterflies were fantastic if only they would stay still for a few moments to get pictures ! I took loads but have since deleted over half of them. I don’t know if any of you have been there, it is at Studley Grange, and there are Meerkats and Otters as well, and next door a very large Garden Centre, so my day was made up. I bought a tray of Cherianthus for £l. plus a few other little bits and bobs, but I did have to restrain myself as I have so much growing in my greenhouse at the moment, and we are still getting frosts, or at least we were up until today, so daren’t put any outside yet. But here are a few photos for you to see..
There was also a Craft Village which had lots of separate units where you could watch and take part in classes of how to make things like cards, quilting, beadwork, candlemaking, etc., and of course buy supplies for any other crafts. Very interesting.

Thanks girls. Annella it was amazing, I couldnt believe it was a butterfly, would have liked to see it open up..
Sandra we went there as the forecast was for wet, but in fact it didnt until on the way home. It is not my hand but my friend Alan's. This stick insect somehow got onto my coat and Alan took it off.
Thanks Yorks, really enjoyed it. No frost here either today.

magic! my kind of place Cinders. I know what you mean about trying to photograph butterflies, challenge & a half that!
Secret confession, I am nuts about guinea-pigs, the most endearing of creatures & a far better pet for kids ( & adults) than rabbits.

Glad you liked it Bampy, and I like guinea pigs as well.
