Another new path

Just a small one. Across the top garden I had a few large slabs to enable me to get to other plants really, and never liked the look of it, so time for it to go. Managed to find some slabs at a reduced price, round ones, so hence another new path is formed. I can’t make up my mind whether to surround them with chippings as I did in the lower path, I know I would have to enclose them with some strips of something but I quite like it as it is. Decisions, decisions. Two of each before and after shots.
The stones look a bit bright at the moment, but obviously they will weather a bit.

Thanks for your comments girls, I think I shall leave it as it is, I like that idea too Ojibway.

Maybe plant some Thyme or cammomile it would give a nice aroma as you step on them, love your path.

very nice :-))

Sorry, Cinderella - I shouldn't be making suggestions for someone else's garden! My own garden is just far too small!

looks really good well done:))))

Thankyou Gm. I am thinking herbs on the left as I already have one or two herbs in that garden, will have to look into camomile, never had it, does it spread fast, or is it invasive.
Thank you Helen for your comment.
Ojibway that is quite alright, I was looking for suggestions, but my garden is not large either, and is jam packed.
thanks Mark.

very nice Cinders, i like it as it is, natural when it's weathered a bit.. :-)

Thanks Surreylad. Yes, looking at it this morning I am quite happy as it is.
30 May, 2012
i like it like that too and dont they make a difference, very nice.

Cinders, dont think cammomile is invasive at all, it has nice white daisies on it when it flowers and i think you can crop it and keep it short. Cammomile lawns are kept cut short, so think it might be worth a try.

and very nice it looks too.

Thanks Sticki
Thank you for that GM. nice to know, will think about it.
Hi Yorks, thank you too.

Looks great as it is, if you ever feel like a change I circled mine with sm,all pebbles looks good, but jus another idea;0)
30 May, 2012
Left as they are would be my choice, but even if you decide on pebbles it should still look good.
30 May, 2012
Thanks PP, yes that is another idea, but may leave it for now and see how it settles in.
30 May, 2012
Thanks Stroller, I think it would be easier perhaps to manage, left like it is.
30 May, 2012
That's a nice transformation Sylvia, given the area a new lease of life :)
30 May, 2012
Well I think so Suzy, thank you
30 May, 2012
Love the stepping stone and even better if they were a bargain:)
30 May, 2012
Yes they were a bargain Nana
30 May, 2012
I think they look fine the way they are Cinders. Personally, I would leave them as they are!
30 May, 2012
Yes that seems to be the general concensous of opinions Sheila, so it will remain like that. Thank you.
30 May, 2012
They look very nice. They will weather, and then will blend in better :o)
31 May, 2012
Thats what I think Hywel. Thanks for commenting.

Do you remember I made some slab areas in my garden last year ? They don't seem to stand out so much now, and you can concentrate on the plants. Yours will be the same soon :o) They will look as if they've always been there :o)
31 May, 2012
Thats true. Also you get used to them anyway don't you, and it doesnt seem to matter.
31 May, 2012
Yes that's right :o)
31 May, 2012
I`m in agreement they look great as they are, I always prefer a natural look if its possible..

I'm another who thinks they look good as they are, Cinders ... I will just say that I have some stones from the beach as edging for the 4 square slabs I use to walk through a border ... they're an absolute pain to weed around and may well be removed this year! .....
3 Jun, 2012
Oh dear, that doesnt sound good, you may have to remove them then.
3 Jun, 2012
Well, there was a time when I would happily upturn each stone ... weed the area ... replace stones ... these days it just doesn't happen! .....
3 Jun, 2012
Weedkiller !!
3 Jun, 2012
Yep, it's the way forward for that area ... lol!

I would let low plants grow right up to them if it were me. I like the natural look that gives and you still can get in to weed etc. I like these.
