Little Rascal

This little rascal lives at the bottom of my garden nothing will grow just here, but i have some 2 1/2in down pipe for wild life to go in, dont very often see him never mind take a photo of him, but this morning i put some wildflower seed down to see if they would grow, but this little one was so cheeky he came out the downpipe and just rooted for the seed i had sown, think i’ll have to get some more seeds and sow in a tray, then plant them next time.

Oh Carol, I think this is amazing. Lucky you, he's gorgeous and so nice that your down pipe especially put there for the wildlife has worked.

Oh Clarice...this is lovely. Why dont you try putting a few seeds or sunflower seeds down just for him. That way he will not have to dig for the others ! We have them in our old stone wall and have been feeding them peanuts regularly. As a reward they have left our bulbs alone !!

Great set of photos Carol. I have a couple of Fieldmice visit my garden - unfortunately part of their '5 a day' includes the growing tips of my Hemerocallis ! Fair trade off I guess ... lol :-)

Great photos Clarice! Kipper my cat, who I love dearly, is a devil when it comes to mice (and birds for that matter). I was enjoying watching a little family of fieldmice rooting about in my yard but unfortunately .... well I think you can guess what happened:o(

If Smokey my cat was alot younger and was a well cat, this little one would not be living in my garden.
15 Apr, 2010
Sorry to hear Smokey is not a well cat, Clarice.

He's been a very poorly cat for along time, he as kidney failure and bowel cancer. I keep putting blogs and photos on my home page as quite a few on GOY are keeping up on how he is doing as he his at vets every 3-4wks.

Oh bless him Clarice! It's awful when they get older and in poor Smokey's case poorly. My other cat, Holly, who I have had for 13 years (and was told by the RSPCA that she was at least 6 or 8 then) is a bit arthritic but not too bad considering she might be 19 or 21. I will keep an eye out for your blogs and wish you and Smokey all the best...xx

Thankyou, Smokey if still with us will be 18 on 23rd of this month, i've had him since he was 6wks old and i know his birthday because he was born next door to where i once lived, and folks said he should have been called George as he was born on st georges day.
