While clearing the garden, I found I had a number of empty pots of varying shapes and sizes, the largest being a big blue one sitting in the front border, which was crying out to have something done to it. So armed with a tin of blue paint, empty pots, a metal rod, compost and a few plants, this is what I came up with :) the larger pots have miniature tulips and double muscari in them for early spring, now I have something to look at out of the window when I can’t get outside, and not so many pots laying around at the back of the shed.
this is what I ended up with


in this picture, it shows roughly where the metal rod goes (sorry my computer drawing skills ain’t that good lol), it needs to be at least 6 inches into the ground through the first pot, then you just add and fill as many pots as you would like

thanks Mavis, most of the planting here are hot colours so the blue helps to tone things down :)

having a nose around for ideas, I've got quite a few pots I don't like, probably bought because they were cheap. Now I know what to do with them, thanks:-)
