What a lovely selection of plants.
I especially like the photo of the nigella seed head which is framed by the beautiful blue sky. I hope you don't mind if I use your pic to do a water colour of it. (Or try to )

You've got some lovely plants there Hywel! love all your Fucshias, is Winifred a hardy one?, I've got one, very similar colours, but I don't know the name, cuttings from a friend who didn't know either!I'd love it to be Winifred, that was my Mums name, will post a photo before the flowers disappear.Love your Nigella, I only have the blue one, which finished ages ago, but managed to get some seed heads.Your Hibiscus puts mine to shame, very small flowers.:-(

I'm glad to hear that TT :o))

Thank you Jaykaty ... there seem to be lots of butterflies about all of a sudden.

Gralew, Winifred is not a hardy variety. I bought it because is was my gran's name. It never grows very big.

Hywel, what a gorgeous set of pictures. You've got lots of colour and I've just fallen for the Plumbago!
The Hibiscus - truly beautiful!
Our gardens are at a similar stage it seems.
Thanks for sharing, oops, nearly forgot the butterflies - well captured!

Fenomenale!

You have so much still in flower Hywel! So many Fuchsias and hardy ones too....that's my project for next year....a selection of hardy ones to fill the garden out, I'm fed up of potted ones that take all summer to flower and then trying to keep them over winter is the devils own job! And it would free up lots of pots too....:))
Crown Princess Marguerita is stunning!

All looking beautiful in your garden Hywel, love the Hibiscus close up :o)

It all looks wonderful, Hywel. I love your hardy fuchsias, and the little clematis. I feel autumn coming, as well. I love September, though - it always feels like the start of a new year to me (unlike January, which I really do not like!)

Your September garden is looking great Hywel.. :))

I love the colours in your garden Hywel, especially the Clematis you didn't plant lol!
The Hibiscus is also beautiful, I'd love one of those. Is it also hardy?

11 Sep, 2013

Hi Hywel, so pleased to see the Chinese Lanterns survived. I also like to see them when the lantern kind of turns to mesh and you can see the orange seed inside. Not been on much lately, I do visit but not had much time of late. Love your Hibiscus, I have a couple but no flowers yet.

Great pics, I like the unknown Clematis, roses and pink honeysuckle in particular. You always seem to have great success with Fuchsia each year too. Hope you get a few more late summer gardening days to enjoy Hywel

Thanks for all your comments about my garden :o)

Waddy the Hibiscus is quite hardy :o) I don't know the name of the variety though. I brought it from my dad's garden when we sold the house.

11 Sep, 2013

Thanks for that Hywel. I've fancied one for a while, but didn't think they could grow in the garden.

12 Sep, 2013

I hope it stays dry for you Seaburngirl :)

Thank you for sharing your lovely flowers. That Japanese anemone is gorgeous as is the Crown Princess Margaretta. I always feel this is the beginning of the new year in the garden when the cyclamen and the autumn crocuses start flowering. My crocus have popped up in the last two days.

14 Sep, 2013

That's nice Scotsgran. I haven't grown autumn crocus for many years.
Thanks for looking at my plants :o)

15 Sep, 2013

I don't have time to comment on individual photos but I do enjoy seeing your pages. I moved my crocus to somewhere that they could be more appreciated and I was surprised to find them still growing in the original area too. They shove their bulbs far down in to the earth.

15 Sep, 2013

I rarely comment on photos either. I often don't see them at all.
The only photos on my pages are of cacti and succulents.

I haven't got any where to plant autumn crocuses, so if I do buy any, I'll put them in a pot.
