Identified at last ! :)

Meet Margaret …
She has been growing in my garden for many years, about 8 feet up a trellis and is quite hardy, but her name has been a mystery.
The trellis is at the side of a Perspex shelter, and the Fuchsia invades it every year, producing curtains of lovely flowers inside the shelter.
I have to bend down to avoid them when I go in there but they look beautiful.
She has such vivid colouring !
Recently in a Fuchsia group I joined on facebook (not that I bother much with that) I saw her photo and it was labelled ‘Margaret’ …
Mystery solved ! :)

Thanks for sharing Hywel. To see a plant that is happy with its environment is rewarding for all our hours of work.
Do you feed it ? If so, when and what with.

RHS say "Margaret" is hardy and vigorous. Yours prove they are correct!

Thank you all …
I never feed it Diane. It just fends for itself.

Margaret is very lovely!
When we were away last week we met a lady called Margaret but I got into my head that she was called Rosemary for some strange reason........so, be warned!!!

It's good to have a name for her Hywel, such a pretty Fuchsia.
17 Sep, 2018
Wow, it's beautiful. Glad that you now know the name.

My word, what a show stopper! I aways thought Lady Boothby was the first "climbing" one but Margaret is much more beautiful don't you think?
17 Sep, 2018
Thank you all,
Dotty daisy I don't think Margaret actually climbs, just grows tall in the shelter of shrubs and a Perspex sheet,
... although when I grew a cutting in the open ground it got over 4 feet.
Steragram It's a different shape and colour to Lady Boothby, more double and a brighter mauve.

It is so satisfying to find you can give this lovely fuchsia a name at last.

I am so pleased for you Hywel you ve found the name at last what stunning photos. Is it a Fuchsia tree. 😊
18 Sep, 2018
What a beautiful fuchsia. It's great that you have been able to name it. Hywel is it hardy?
18 Sep, 2018
Stunning!

Thank you all …
I don't think it's a tree Thruppenybit, it just grows tall in the shelter of the trellis and other shrubs.
When I grew a cutting in the open ground it only got to about 5 feet - more of a shrub really.
Yes Marjorie it is hardy, it has come through many cold winters …
Thanks Bathgate !

It would make a lovely tree I was reading it does nt do well in a pot out side does better in the ground if its put out side it said its a large Bush. Thank you Hywel for your reply 😊x
18 Sep, 2018
Yes, a large bush , I think it gets too big for a pot, it likes plenty of room for the roots.

So satisfying! The flowers remind me of you Army Nurse, I like the combination. So many flowers!
