One of my chaps showed me some Spring blooms in his back garden yesterday morning, fortunately before the rain started.
He had quite a lot of Spring flowers, but I only chose these one to add.

He has a wide selection there Kate, some very pretty plants despite the wet. I really like the snakes head fritillaries and the crocus sheltering the wet bumble bee..:)

He has some lovely plants and I love the last photo of the crocuses dotted around the lawn.

I'm loving the cowslip, it's unusual. He has a pretty spring lawn.

Cowslips take me back to my childhood in the 50s, to happy, carefree days when we would climb the hill from Wycombe to play tennis on the courts at Naphill and pick cowslips for our Mum and Nan on the way back. I used to love walking my dog in a field near Bradenham too, at this time of year it is covered in cowslips. I've tried to grow them in my garden but they refuse, although primroses, their cousins, are very happy here. Maybe they are afraid I shall pick their blooms, but I know better now, lol.

Lovely blog and photo's Kate, I'm green with envy here, I love to see spring flowers in the lawn, wouldn't work here for me, I have the room but with two dogs the poor flowers wouldn't survive.....

Thank you for your lovely memories, Xela!!! It sounds like a really lovely time. I'm pretty sure even if you can't grow cowslips in your garden, your primroses will look just as pretty.

Thanks Sue, he's used a small patch of his lawn towards the back of his garden. It looks even better this week!
I know what you mean, our little furry friends don't quite get the idea of maintenance at times!!! We love them all the same!
