Phlox

I inherited this phlox and this is the time of a year that its in its prime. It is a dilemma if I want to keep it or replace it with some other plants that deer do not prefer. (the choice is very limited) I am protecting it with my own garlicky hot sauce but it is a chore I would prefer not to have.

Developing nice big heads

they are stunners aren't they. Are there truly deer proof plants?

That deer looks as if it is saying 'nothing here to see, move along now'

They are gorgeous Klahanie! Maybe you could go online to see if there is a deterrant!

What a beautiful entrance, lined with your perfect colour combination of phlox. You're right to say, just live with them now...enjoy them as long as they are there and looking so very attractive.

Your Phlox are really lovely, Klahanie! 😃 Live & let live - easy to say when you are not the one who is bothered by whatever! The deer look lovely - but so do the Phlox!

I am envious! You are right about making peace with your wild companions. At least they are more beautiful than the enormous slugs which I watched gnawing their way through my newly planted lupins in the rain (again) this morning. I left them where they were...

Beautiful Phlox ( & also deer photo). What a dilemma! Keep the Phlox though & enjoy them as best you can. Must be very frustrating to have so much eaten by deer. I have a friend in my area who has the same problem, they eat her roses etc.

I can't believe I missed this Klahanie. I've never seen phlox so stunning to be honest. Mum used to grow pink and white ones and I remember the scent was lovely, very clovey, similar to carnations. The whole swathe looks gorgeous. Lovely photos and sweet little deer, but KEEP OFF THE PHLOX!
