Water colour of the River Wye painted 2 years ago.

Showing this is going to be,hopefully, the first step to returning to starting water colour painting again…..When the Covid19 arrived, I vowed I would take it up again having much time on my hands, but it has been difficult even arriving at this point.Tomorrow will be the task of sorting the paints. Some of them will obviously have gone hard by now.
The River Wye painting was the last one I did .It will be a challenge ahead . I’m rather fond of river scenes. So ,here goes!

If I can remember well, there are a few of you who also paint.Have you continued to this or perhaps, like me,there has been a great void.

Of course, the garden is just beginning to show some fresh growth and so has my enthusiasm for it.Still, one thing we can depend on it the fickleness of our weather. Probably many inclement days ahead.

I enjoy water colour painting too but I’m afraid I haven’t done any recently. I think the time has come to start again after seeing your lovely painting. It can be very therapeutic .

Beautiful Julia 🙂. I have found it hard to get motivated, though I did manage to buy two tubes of paint and new paper before lockdown. Then I started writing instead ...

SBG, I suppose it doesn't matter if in your own mind you're 'no good', it's the practice of 'doing' which is important. I began years ago doing watercolour and found it very relaxing. I'm not sure I have any talent but I shall start again after being kickstarted by Lindak's gift.

Meadow and Marjorie, Can I join you? I'm not sure you will see any of my efforts!!

Your water colour on the wall is delightful. You will know exactly when the time is right to pick up the paint brush again.

It's lovely Julia ! I am exactly the same as you and haven't done any since I lived in Laceby. I actually brought my pad and paints out the other day and that is as far as I got as I decided to make a start pruning my roses.

What a beautiful painting ! I also enjoy art but more sketching with pencils. I'll have to finish some of the many I have on half.
You sound enthusiastic, I hope it continues :)

Good to hear you’ve been spurred on, Julia!
I’m ok, thanks, just feeling a bit sad this week working on a covid elderly ward. I’m hoping I won’t be redeployed here too long. X

I know the feeling Julia, what you intend doing just doesn't work? Don't give up heart, another day it'll probably be just what you were aiming for and then it becomes exciting..:))
