Mid-summer downunder: A gorgeous garden visitor - the Pale-Headed Rosella

What a beautiful bird.

They sure are Louise ... I just love their colours, especially that little splash or red underneath.

Does look a lot like a budgie, Homebird ... but it is larger!

Beautiful bird. Nice to see them free. I have only seen them caged.

We're fortunate to see them a few times every year FF ... usually in pairs, although I couldn't see this one's mate.

You are lucky to have so many pretty birds out there , I would be watching them all day ........

Homebird ... I'm not sure what that plant is with the tiny blue flowers. It's a weed that pops up everywhere here ... there's lots of it at the moment since the rain about a fortnight ago.

Don't worry John ... you should see my green, green eyes when I see photos of the gorgeous cottage gardens and beautiful green landscapes from over there!! If you have the time you should take a look at my Garden page ... there's around 70 photos of the birdlife we see around here ... it's a joy to see these creatures living their life in the wild.
