and the best bit is, no one else around, at least I hope there wasn't, or not many, at least. To be able to enjoy things like this without a horde (herd?) of others yakking in the background doubles the pleasure.

oh, wonderful - the prob with "silent places" is that so many people want to see them at the same and can't stop yakking or litering - and even if they go on their own they can't keep off their damn phones!

you wouldnt believe how loud one woman was when i was in a bird hide today!!!

lol on a scale of one to ten? was she in the hide, or passing by? no wonder that the birdsong that most people hear are alarm calls "watch out, there's a human about!"

if 1 is acceptable she spoke at 4 or 5 ~ normal speech level ~ in the hide!!! not about the birds.

sorry you had such bad weather sheilar, i expected worse here but in fact we had quite a warm sunny day!

no idea fran, for some odd reason and very thankfully the birds didnt seem to notice or i might have said something ~ i did keep looking in total disbelief! the children [not hers] were really good.

lol don't think I've had shown such restraint!

What a perfect scene Sticki. I love the Lake District so much. It makes my heart sing. I might go there on my own one day as my OH doesn't care for it much....I don't know what is wrong with him ...I suppose it's because there aren't any golf courses there ;) Anyway, since he has now given me a holiday 'ban for life' I can jolly well go on my OWN holidays in future! lol :)))

Yup! I've been and got my self banned for life for being "too grumpy" on holiday. From now on, I will be 'forced' to stay at home and tend my garden (lol....result!). ;))

I love blue too, my husband's favourite colour, though I have to say, that generally my fave colour is green!

Blue always was my very favourite colour, even when I was a kid; deep blue, sapphire, or lake-blue as shown in this pic! Sadly, this was back in the Late Stone Age - I couldn't have anything blue because "blue is for boys", so I was stuck with supid pink(lol you wouldn't believe how much contempt I can get into the word "pink" nowadays!)

Green runs it a close second, all shades of green, but blue seems to be THE colour for me

i know exactly what you mean fran ~ i really dont like pink but some shades are ok, like bright fuchsia!
