Another beastie

Just joking - hope it's going to turn into something beautiful or maybe I have been nurturing a monster :)

I hope it is, Grandmage. I have a large clump of them growing. Over a number of years I have scattered poppy seeds about but, apart from the little yellow one, none have appeared. These are all in one area so I think they have come from the remains of a Poundland box of wild flowers, bought 2 years ago, that I just threw onto the garden earlier this year without any soil preparation or care :)

Thats perfect! Nice hairy beasty!!

24 Jun, 2012

They say that poppies bloom on disturbed ground....that has sad thoughts attached. Maybe your hairy 'hairy monster' is blooming due to your garden makeover.

You are probably right there, Dorjac, as well as the fact that I have left my hoe in the shed this year and have only pulled 'weeds' by hand :) I'm still waiting for the beastie to turn into a 'swan'.

25 Jun, 2012

Did it already turn to swan, Gee19? This season is not very good for poppies in Central Europe.
