Agree with Linda. Made me think of my friend in Miami. She and I used to 'grow' sunflowers on her Dad's allotment garden. We used to pick the seeds and plant them...her Dad couldn't understand where they came from lol...he knew fine really, but played along with us!

Love this story Karen. My grandad let me help him with the garden and he taught me quite a lot about growing plants and looking after them. I remember carrying the watercan to the tap and it was almost as big as me at one time LOL

Great painting, Sandra! In the thumbnail I thought it looked like a different flower till I opened it! You have done very well! :-)) We have tons of them down on the allotment! (Well, 100s, anyway!).
So pleased for you getting a solo exhibition of your painting at your local library & for two weeks at that! Marvellous! You must be as pleased as Punch! LOL!

Congratulations on your solo exhibition Sandra, I'm sure everyone will feel happier for seeing your paintings, they're so joyful and I think your sunflower is a lovely colour, nicer than Vangoghs:-)

I brought some Sunflowers home from the allotment yesterday. They are the smaller, secondary flowers of the multi-headed type that mostly grow on the allotment. The main flower, of which there are very few now, would be too big to have in our living room!

WOW! Love sunflowers and this is particularly welcome in a very sunflower deficient year! Intrigued by the other piece that looks quite modern/mostly brown/gold(?) abstract?? Apologies but can't seem to describe it any better!!!
