Looks like it ought to be beneficial in some way !

I love moss especially the smell of it when you collect some. When I was teaching, occasionally the children used to make moss gardens on trays. They had some wonderful ideas - little gardens in miniature!

We have sleepers around the bog garden and they often have moss on them. Some grew around the little pond and one day a friend of my hubbys came round and scraped it off, saying that you want rid of that! Nooo, we didn't, but it was too late then!

Hi Rose ..
Maybe hubby should make a sign for near your pond ...
'Keep Off the Moss' !!! ;o)

It's like flying over a forested delta.
Cracking photo, Terra!
Some mosses are used to fight infected wounds, I've read, while others are used to pack & bind wounds.
I know that's definately true of spiders' webs from a medical programme on radio 4.
Nature's cures, eh?

Yes I like that, I have a picture of some I took on a wall. I must try and add it to photos.
17 Mar, 2013
I allow it to grow on the big stones on my raised beds, I take it off carefully and use it when I'm repotting my birdcage planters....

The moss looks lovely TT, I have seen it in japanese gardens (pics) it looks Superb..
I had a belfast sink once and tried to grow moss on it by applying yogurt, it never did work as the dogs kept licking it off lol..

Hi Kat ... yes .. moss is superb, isn't it !
18 Mar, 2013
I used moss for the bonsais, but gave up growing bonsais, my sister said it is painfull for the tree.
18 Mar, 2013
I have moss on most of my bonsai, it does not harm them, some of my trees have had it growing on the soil for thirty years or more, also the blackbirds keep it in check, as this time of year they are taking it for their nesting materials.
Ashizuru.

The birds here tend to take the moss from the bonsai pots. Moss has a lovely virulent green colour. A garden in miniature.
