Hywel ... I water new plants till they get established and I include only those which are reasonably happy in drier soil. Good luck with your new raised bed. :o)

I constructed the raised bed during one long sunny summer, some years ago. It was a lot of work, but great fun, and since then I've enjoyed looking at the plants there, whatever the weather.

Lots of colour which is needed at this time of year. You must have acid soil, Terra, or did you make the soil acid in your raised beds?

Thank you both ... some years ago I built the raised bed from recycled brick sections. It took me all summer because the bricks are very heavy, but the end result is worth all the work.

I managed to get out into the garden and clean the three bird water holders and do some sweeping up but the wind was very cold, but it was nice to have the sunshine.
