Aw...thank you for your lovely comments.....Ian painted the back of the cottage a few months ago so its looking a lot better than when we first came. Hopefully next year all the front will be done too.....:o)

Well thanks Annella, welcome to GoY........ooh that was mid summer, some of those plants are still flowering though, the purple chimney bellflower has had an Autumn flowering....but my window trough looks a bit sad.....:o(

So lovely. I'm enjoying looking through the Cottage Garden Section, it's brightening up January.

Pleased you like it...Ginellie....it'll be good to see vivid colours again won't it? I've been busy in the greenhouse today, and tidying up the borders, little Robin friend has been there a couple of feet away.....:o)

I should be made the most of one of the first decent days, I know. However I have to admit I went to the Turner Exhibition instead - will try harder tomorrow!

Ooh, that would be far more interesting! You mean the Artist? Famous for his seas and skies? Bet you enjoyed that...:o)

Yes it was great. Turner and the Masters it was called and I had been meaning to go since it opened, quite some time ago. Finishes on 31st Jan so had to get there - not at all difficult for me since it's only a tube ride away. Then I spent another 2 hours looking round the rest of Tate Britain and was exhausted when I got home.
Back to the garden tomorrow for sure.

What did you think to the paintings Ginellie....were they as lovely in the "flesh"? At the mo there's a lot on about Van Gough.....I never cared for his subjects, or style, couldn't really see what was so amazing about his paintings.....I must be missing something???...:o)

Yes, most were wonderful, especially a view of the River Thames from the hill, which I see most days. I agree about Van Gough, not an artist whoes work I would get too excited about seeing.

I can see that would be fascinating to compare then and now......

Thanks Helenium, pleased you liked it...that was two years ago! The tall Campanulas have really spread, I'm pulling them up by the dozen already! I'm pleased you commented, I'd forgotten what it was like then, there's been a few changes after the very cold winter, lots died off, but I will add more blue plants....they were pretty....:o)
