The big garden tidy up

At last I am sitting down, feeling quite pleased with myself after having spent a lovely day in the garden. Like alot of other Goyers, I have noticed quite a few things still in flower and although they are not at their best, I feel grateful to them for continuing to give this worn out gardener alot of pleasure!
So heres a few photos to show you what I’ve been up to:
Main job of the day – clean out the greenhouse-

potted up pelargonium cuttings and on the left a few small delphinium seedlings, rescued from when weeding.

I love foxgloves and try to grow a couple of trays every year. This lot is Candy Mountain.

Some small phlox plants, grown on from plug plants sent in September

All tidy and the dead brought out

Another surprise! These don’t look great at the moment – hopefully next year they will be transformed into Astrantia roma. – Love em…..

Found just the right place for them too!
The newly planted border now looks like this -

Can’t wait for the camellia to come into flower – that’ll be next year!

This Acer palmatum garnet has been in my garden at least 15 years! – I still love it

This is Acer orange dream
A new addition to my collection!

A few other plants I would just like to show you, that are still looking good:

These are the white hydrangeas I bought at the Kent Autumn Show….

A few plants on the patio

Not sure about this hydrangea – might have to put it somewhere else next year – its a bit scrubby!
Have yet to take down canopy on the gazebo.

So all in all, I am quite pleased with my efforts for this year. Of course I still have lots of plans for next year. I’m still not quite convinced of my plans for mirrors and trellis behind the new border. I keep googling and finding new ideas. – but that’s half the fun!
I’ve put loads of bulbs in, so now just need to be patient and wait for the spring …….!!

Its all looking neat and tidy Poppy, my greenhouse doesn`t stay that way for long either, once it gets cold its very often too easy to just pop things into them rather than unlocking the sheds, I like to spend time in mine as well, my bolthole when I need time on my own lol.....

That would be so nice if I could join you Poppy! Would be there in a flash on a cold winter day.

Hi Poppy,

I Simply love your garden... its very difficult to maintain a garden like yours.... thumbs up... I did not see any Aloe Vera plants in any of your pictures. If you don't have I highly recommend you to grow some plants.

I have a small space outdoor, so I have grown some Aloe Vera plants which is said to be a miraculous plant for its healing properties internally & externally.

Please visit my blog in few days as I will be giving more information about the plant based on my readings.

Anyway best of luck & please do continue your green work.

love the Nature & the Nature will love you :)

Hello Hywell, thanks for the lovely compliment. My plans for next year are what I'm hoping will keep me occupied and happy through the winter.
Hello Sheriff How kind of you, I'm glad you like my garden. It has been asleep for a long time and I'm just beginning to wake it up again. I'm a typical gardener always looking forward to next year. I will look out for your blog. Aloes are interesting plants but I don't know too much about them.
