i love my route to work especially this time of year when all the hedges and trees are at their best, full of flower and colour, first i go through the lanes as you can see in the picture then down a lovely road where the posh folk live then i finish off with a beautifull view of the park as i work, ive lived in this area all my life and its 15 minutes from blackpool but you would never think so, hope you enjoy the pictures
its been a lovely sunny day here today but worked till 3.30pm then came home and started weeding the block paving on the front, did about an hour and a half before i got bored hahah, hope you all had a great day and sunshine to ;o))

I live in dartmouth, nova scotia canada and it is raining one minute and sunny the next. I will be off work in half hour and I will go home and feed my fish and let out the dogs, but I wont see so many pretty trees on my way home. your trip to work is so nice

Stunning pics,San,what a lovely walk to work. The trees are beautiful, and the Hawthorn is lovely this year,we have a couple behind the fence.I love trees, like you.I remember Layton from years ago,as we once won £10 in a game of bingo,at a Working men's club,I think it was called Layton Institute, and they used to have brilliant entertainment
We hadnt been married long, and it was a fortune to us..we bought 2 cushions with it,at St Annes.;o)) and had a nice night out with the rest.... We knew how to live then,San..Lol.. Everyone went to Blackpool then, from our area..and it was great, and affordable.Ah,Happy days...
28 May, 2010
Great pics Sandra...lots of leafy greenery and stunning colours ! Particularly love the rampaging clematis !
28 May, 2010
lol sandra , layton institute still going strong and still have good acts on, its the area thats gone a bit rough,
i dont walk to work either i drive, takes about 10 mins in car, if i had more time i would walk, also a bit risky walking the lanes at busy times, im defernatly a tree person ;o))
hi ray everything is so full and bushy, amazing how different it looks in spring and summer, looks bare in winter, the clematis was stunning but with the sun i couldnt get a clear shot, but against the tree looked beautifull ;o))
28 May, 2010

lol mushy i was carefull not to annoy anyone , well just about haha, thankyou
28 May, 2010
lovely pics Sandra. I do hope you'd wasn't still driving when taking the pics! lol
My journey to work is just houses and houses and more houses oh & a mosque. lol. Majority of the gardens are awfull with overgrown weeds and grass. Such a shame as few have big potential gardens and would love to work on.
28 May, 2010
~isn't it great to go through the lanes and see the flowers and trees Sandra~ we take the back roads too,it's the nicest part of going to work!
I have often thought of taking a pic as we cross the bridge over the estuary to Llanelli.particularly when the tide is full in and the water is sparkling turquoise but the bus passengers would think I am mad!~ the last 15 mins of my trip to work is by bus~ you get to see the river widening out to sea and the sheep on the marshes which I believe is a delicacy~salt marsh lamb!
28 May, 2010

Oh,San,you have made me laugh today.I have just looked at your comment about your son's liking Chelsea, and I should have been more specific....I meant Chelsea flower show Lol. That's how I saw Vicky being interviewed. Not a footie fan,but as Alison's partner and all his Family are huge supporters,It looks like I
may have to keep well in with them, and go for Man United,if any. Thanks for making me smile,anyway..:o))...read your PM

I loved the pics of your drive to work! Similar to the path we take to get to my wife's place of work. This month of May is by far & away the best time of the year to do the 40 min. walk! Especially at 6 in the morning!
I made a blog of "An Early Morning Stroll in Early May". I think I should have waited a few more weeks before doing the blog & calling it "An Early Morning Stroll in Mid May"! LOL!
This morning I noticed that the flowers on the Hawthorns & the Horsechestnuts are starting to go over! :-( After the bank holiday on Monday it will be much more noticeable as we go along the path on Tuesday. :-(
29 May, 2010
thankyou balcony, ive noticed the blossoms starting to blow off now, i wish they lasted all summer, i just love this time of year for tree flowers to,
will check out your blog to ;o))
29 May, 2010
I loved these pictures, thnak you for posting.
I have a nice journey to work too, and I think maybe I take it for granted. You have spurred me into lifting my head from my Blackberrty on the train and looking out of the window again. :)
29 May, 2010
thanx so much cazkiss, your right we do take it all for granted, you have been missing so much on your way to work, bet you will be surprised at what you see next train journey ;o))

31 May, 2010
Very tru, very true. I have a little lane a few hundred yards long on the way and it's next to a small river and lots of overhanging trees and wildlife about. It's about a 30 second drive through it but I love that small part of the journey!
31 May, 2010
you will have to get pics when you get chance Dan, i got some strange looks when i kept stopping car and taking pics of trees hahaha do i care,,, i think not ;o)))

3 Jun, 2010
Lovely pics Sandra. It looks a pleasure to drive to work and even more smiles on the way back home I expect. My drive to work wasn't very picturesque, traffic, houses, busy roads, traffic lights I'm sure you get the idea but the place where we actually live is very picturesque. Glad I took early retirement and can sit in my nice garden now or do some gardening and go for walks in the village. take care :-)
5 Jun, 2010
thanx richard, i love the run through the lanes but its used as a short cut for many now which can be a nightmare as they think they are on a main road going so fast and not alot of laybys to nip in , it gets congested at times when folk try to barg through, then everyone gets stuck grrr, i hate that, should be residents only access, im so glad your enjoying retirement, your garden and village ;o))
5 Jun, 2010
Oh San...you have some wonderful trees on your way to work........really loved that....I can imagine you on your way home...taking your scissors out and doing a bit of a trim here and there......:o)
5 Jun, 2010
very picturesque Sandra and a joy to drive around those places. Perhaps you could give my hair a quick trim after your next visit to Janey's, with your pruners ,on your way home :-) ...lol
5 Jun, 2010
Ha...ha Richard.....by that would be a trip home...right across the country to me then back and down to you.....fitting in a few more Goyers on the way.Lol! Like your pic by the way it reminds me of Vernon Kaye...Lol!! And all that rhymes...........
5 Jun, 2010
heeee heee thanks Janey glad you like my pic - young man or what? they say you are as young as you feel..........lol. I didn't know that you knew my uncle Vernon :-)
5 Jun, 2010
Ha! And your Aunty Tess! Thats what they say Richard....and after a full day's gardening I feel about 90...:o((
5 Jun, 2010
Can't believe that Janey you didn't look a day over twenty five when I chatted to you last week over the pub wall when you were in your garden...lol :-)
5 Jun, 2010
What a joy to have a route to work like that.......
5 Jun, 2010
Well, that's cheered me up no end Richard....mmm..when we were chatting ...I was thinking , he's either on stilts or he IS Vernon Kaye...Lol
6 Jun, 2010

it is lovely dotty, even if i take the other route on main road its still got lots of trees etc to see ;o))
6 Jun, 2010
Glad I cheered you up Janey-that sounds nice living near a pub that would suit me as I wouldn't have far to 'stride' home...lol :-)
Lovely park Sandra-nice for eating your sandwiches there during lunchtimes :-)
6 Jun, 2010
yes when younger and alot more of us at the shop we all use to go sit on the grass opposite work for lunch and sunbathe, go home now, think i got in the habit when i had a dog, use to go home and take her for walks and still do it even though she isnt with me now. but then i got angelina and now casper so like to check on him,
6 Jun, 2010
That's great Sandra that your work is near home so you can get home at lunchtimes. It breaks up the day for you ;-)

9 Jun, 2010
That would be great San! Challenge Sandra first stop Richie's....:o)
Ooh good Richard....new pruners, a couple of rehearsals on the trees first, I could've taken you to the pub next door, but as they are still renovating....a cup of Rosielee will have to do.....:o)
