Good to hear you had a fabulous day. Loved your seating area - the broken trampoline thingy worked out well! Still love your paved path area with those beautiful tree ferns. Liked the cake as well! You are in a lovely spot there.

So glad that your open day went very well, and with good weather, too! :-)

Pleased all went ok for you.

I particularly liked the round table. I wonder whether I need one of them. My round table is not as big and impressive as yours but then again there is only me who sits at it. Now if I had a round table like yours then I'm sure I would have more visitors just like you. But will I need a nice garden like yours and plants for sale as well do you think?

I was a bit worried that the nice lady was going to fall over whilst watering and looking at the camera. I see she is giving us a lovely smile so I suspect I need not have worried after all.

Bye the way I was wondering is there any cake left over?

Pleased you had a successful open day and the sun shone for you. Your garden looks gorgeous. I love the winding path and border, it looks a very pretty spot you are in.

the arch is the result of tiding up the broken trampoline...

16 Jun, 2009

Glad it went well. I would have a field day in your nursery.
Love the big table.

16 Jun, 2009

I like that table too...does it live there all the time Sandra?

we cant have normal garden furniture it too windy. one of the problems of living with a sea view.

this is concreated into the floor. the up-rights are telegraph poles that were part of the climbing frame for twelve years. the under supports were used on a lorry delivering pipes to roadworks. the top is from reclaimed floorboards. its great on weekend when everyone visits.

16 Jun, 2009

These are the same problems I have here Sandra..I live on a high windy bluff...love the view but my goodness.. the wind is so bad...I am forever trying to find shrubs, that can take the blistering fall, Spring and winter winds here...so far...not much can withstand it..how on earth do you flourish with your garden plants so well? and a nursery no less!

16 Jun, 2009

i depend on my hedging and big shrubs to protect the more delicate things Cat. i do love watching the boats come and go so its woorth the wind dont u think?

16 Jun, 2009

I need to get some good hedging going in my back yard where the wind hits the hardest...what do you find works the best for you...I do love the views..totally awesome..I even like the storms when the rain is being slashed across the windows in torrents..and the wind is owning the earth and the trees and every living thing.

16 Jun, 2009

we have a bit of a storm alert today.....i love watching everything blowing in the wind (if im inside). i use griselinia hebe and lonicera in the fight against the wind.

17 Jun, 2009

I will keep my eyes open for those shrubs Sandra....from one windblown person to another...thanks..I do have a yellow rose that has managed to survive......it is a tough one...lol

17 Jun, 2009

Cat its amazing what does survive with a little protection...

17 Jun, 2009

I saw where people took old t-shirts and strung them over plants against the wind...I think they used pegs in the ground some how..will have to look for that idea again.

17 Jun, 2009

sounds interesting. maybe use pretty t shirts...

17 Jun, 2009

I am going to look in the 2nd hand stores for some big ones with cool designs on...that would be fun....I wonder if you would cut them up a bit or just leave the arms on as part of the tying to pegs part....hmmmm
