well they have started filming. my husband julian and friends sam martin and chris are all excited with being extras. they have been for the fitting of thier costumes. julian has to wear chain mail and a weapon but hes not sure what yet. the others are archers who are landing off boats on the beach. apparently they are invading france??? i dont remember that being part of the story..
there was a bit of controvecy earier in the week when road signs saying the road to the beach was to be closed for TWO weeks and no-one would be allowed on the beach. but after several angry phone call from irate dog walkers and surfers we can now walk down to the beach and watch while the filming is being done and in the evening the surfers get their surf back.
i was too bust today to go while filming was taking place but we went down for a look tonight.
these las two are
julian and sam (possible son-in-law) posing at the new french village at fresh water west pembrokeshire……
finaly is the old seaweed house that has been there years. the film company has given it a new thatch and some badly needed repair.

Yes the whole thing was filmed here...it is our town and Ft. Worden where they show the white military housing and even the paper mill..the ferry too and the fight scene was filmed where we now have all the high school graduations...it was a balloon hanger out at Ft. Worden..you know like Zepplins...The Tides In motel where they were all staying etc...is still there and the room they used for it is always in demand...lol..I believe Debra Winger bought property around here somewhere...

I forgot a part..my late husband owned a tavern in those days..called the Town Tavern...he had comissioned the painting you can see in the bar brawl..he was not happy with the painting..he had asked for a Victorian lady but not the rest of it...anyway...it is a well known painting because the film crew had it lowered in the brawl scene so it would be in that scene...lol..my husband was not in the film..but his tavern was used..there was another part that was in a place called TJ's or something like that...that was a different place in the movie..
The little girl at the dinner table scene was my daughters best friends little sister...lol..it is fun to watch it to pick out towns people through out it...
