Spring is definitely on the way

Took my camera around the garden today to see what was emerging. There are a lot of signs and don’t they gladden my heart. Hope they do yours.
Lots of hellebores, so hope they don’t bore you :o)
The inside and outside of this flower.
A different flower further along the hedgerow.
and further along again.
A lemon/yellow Ashwood seedling
Sold as Lady in Red, it was a very reddish colour when I bought it last year. Hopefully it will be a deeper red.
Iris Katherine Hodgkin
A lovely soft periwinkle lilac/white blush. A plant from Spritzhenry and doing well.
Chrysosplenum macrophylum bought a year ago at Caerleon AGS and doing really well this year.
Then there are the winter aconites lighting up a dark area under the beech tree.
Berries from last summers Iris foetida
Then I spotted this twin cyclamen capsule. I remember the double flower but hadn’t realised it had a double ovary too. Isn’t nature weird?
Hope you enjoyed seeing what is giving me pleasure today.

Hi Sbg, you have some very nice plants there, I particularly like your Chrysosplenium machrophyllum, but any plant which flowers at this time of year is very welcome, Derek.

yes its a nice plant, the leaves are a bit like butterbur and the flowers face out wards. it is a shade lover so is by the privet hedge under the snowy mesilupus tree. Bought it last year so pleased to see it has survived and settled in nicely.

None of my winter aconites have appeared. But we had our first crocus flower open today, so that made up for it! ;)

Oh! My garden is so slow. I am tidying at the moment hoping by March my plants might wake up.

Lovely aconites! I've not managed to grow them but we do have three yellow crocuses out to make up. I'm hooked on hellebores too but only one is flowering so far - they others are just sitting htere waiting for a spot of warmer sunshine.

Lovely and cheerful.I'm missing the winter/spring colour in my old garden.I think I might drive past and have a peek at the front garden on Wednesday when I go down that way to see my osteopath.

thank you for the comments, yes there are some wonderful spring plants, I make the most of them as I have a lot of shade in the garden so spring is its best season in some ways.
The good thing about snow is that many flowers appreciate it more than frost. it forms a cold insulating layer and causes less damage to the plant.
Hey Paul its a free country go have a look but lets hope they haven't done anything too radicle yet.

Lovely to see some colour at last in the gardens! :-))
I have had Winter Flowering Pansies give a nice show during the winter but they are now going over. With a bit of luck the warmer weather forecast for this week will help the along.
I have several yellow Crocuses that have opened in the last few days as well as Snowdrops. My Daffodils are coming alone just fine & in a couple of weeks at most there will be open flowers on our balcony!

Your hellebores are anything but boring, so pretty. I am enjoying looking at others gardens as the flooding recently seems to have set everything back here and I haven't much to look at :)

I think they'll probably wait till after the summer before they turn the front garden into a car park...SeaburnG!!
Once the realise All the work involved in looking after plants/gardens!

A real pleasure to look at all these lovely photos. I am more than happy to wave goodbye to winter and signs of spring are very welcome!

Paul, never go back can be good advice - its hard enough having to leave it without the ristk of seeing what someone has or hasn't done to it! (If it was mine I'd leave it exactly as it is...)
