Latest quilting technique

Currently I have lost my gardening mojo and have been spending my time reading or sewing. I blame the weather.
There is a technique called folded star and it looks very complicated.
Well! I had a workshop last week and I was amazed at how straight forward it was. Once you ‘get your head around it’.
It involves folding squares into triangles called prairie points and then arranging them onto a central square then further 8 points are arranged to form a star. The more layers you add the bigger the star gets.
Mine has 4 layers and ended up as an 8" square table mat.

Lovely piece of quilting. How many more have you to make to make up a service?
My garden is parched, can't get a fork into the ground, back and hips hurt and I am miserable.

Whilst I am pleased I am not the only one lacking mojo I am sorry too that so many of you feel the same.
I come onto the forum most days Meadow just not had many photos to post or stuff for a blog.
Craft programmes have been using the C word since June, so don't worry Ange I have been hearing it a lot. I tend to do Christmas sewing Oct/Nov
Marjorie not that relaxing at first, good job I didn't have a swear box to hand.
I will make some more Siris but not in the same fabrics as I only used small amounts of offcuts/scraps that were in my Christmas fabric box.

That is really beautiful. Can't imagine how you do it so perfectly.

After a dry and heat spell of four weeks, today the rain has started and it is coming down in buckets. I hope this stays for several days for a good soaking. Up to now, I was going into the winter activity mode too. Looking at your weather forecasts from across the pond it looks like water restrictions are on the way so I expect there will be many garden members putting things on hold till next year.

Looks beautiful, Eileen you're so very talented! It reminds me a little of those wonderful Amish quilts..
I'm sorry you've lost your motivation a bit for the garden, like some of the others.
I bought some bedding plants for the FIRST time and I've potted some up and added some to the rockery for a bit of instant colour.
We've almost finished our project, OH has pretty much completed the "back" patio..wall and path fully finished..
Just some little bits to finish off round about.
I enjoyed the warm weather last week, rain has arrived today, although muggy...grass is greening up again.

A lovely piece of work, Sbg. I admire anyone who likes to sew as I hate it. I’ve resorted to knitting a winter jumper instead.

Seaburn that is gorgeous, I've always admired your quilting, I wondered where you were as its not like you to disappear like that, I certainly know what losing ones mojo feels like, that heat was intolerable and it has been so disheartening to see so many plants dying despite our efforts to keep them going....

Thank for your lovely comments.
I have been on the site most days just not physically in the garden except to water those plants that needed it the most.

That is so delicate and will be gorgeous on the Christmas (am I allowed to say that word so early in the year??) table. You've certainly mastered the technique.
Don't mention the 'gardening mojo', Sbg, mine's gone completely, feeling like it may never return! I'm even beginning to envy the people with plastic grass and gravel...
