Glorious Spring Day

I have now been shown by my OH how to download photos from my camera . . . and I have written the sequence down, otherwise I’d forget!
So come with me for a short stroll round the garden, with my usual wonky pics :) The first few are from the front garden …
Primula Sieboldii, really pale blue, in the wind
Yellow Hellebores, Pulmonaria Blue Ensign, cyclamen
At last, budding buds on Prunus cerasifera
Primulas and Nandina Obsessed
Ipheion
In the greenhouse, Nemesia Mirabelle
Salvia Amistad cutting
Swan River Daisies (Dimorpotheca)
Big buds on Prunus Tai-Haku (Great White Charry)
View of garden
Second flush on Prunus Autumnalis with Photinia red robin hedge in front garden
Keep safe everyone, and enjoy your gardens :)

Lovely to see your garden. There is a Prunus Tai-Haku on the corner of our street and it is a stunning tree.
all looking good there.

Thanks Karen, yes I love the P.sieboldii. Hope your gloom lifts soon.
Thank you Eileen. Is that Prunus blooming already? We have just walked round the block and saw masses of white blossom, but I thought it a bit early for cherries??

No its in bud like yours in the photo. Mid april to early May is the usual time for it to flower here. [East Yorkshire]

Sheila, it might be the bird cherries. They are out here too. Or the Blackthorn (sloe).

Looking full of promise.

Thanks Siris - so much to look forward to.
Thanks Karen, I’ll Google bird cherries 🙂.

Great photos Sheila, I'm glad you wrote the procedure down. I would have done the same.
I like the island bed in your lawn, it looks lovely :)

Aw, you’re so kind Hywel, thank you 🙂.

Everything is looking very nice Sheila.

Lovely to see the colour in your garden Sheila .... I do love those little Nemesia ... :o)

Thanks Shirley - I agree. Nemesia Mirabelle is SO pretty, and I have just been potting up N. Karoo Blue and N. Sunestia Orange (which luckily seems to have pink buds!).
I succumb far too readily to Sarah Raven's yummy offers in her catalogue, but the seedlings which arrived today are looking healthy and strong, so they're good value :)

Your garden is full of hope, thank goodness for the sunshine:-) I call Sarah Raven's catalogues plant porn, such lovely pics so hard to resist and even though I have no room, I buy. Her plants are always strong and healthy too:-)

Absolutely ... thanks Ba.

Sheila, I rarely buy plants/seeds on-line. Hayloft were my last order and I was thrilled with the Dianthus collection, not so now, as many have died off.
I just looked back to see they were planted in 2016 so perhaps I shouldn't really complain!

Lol Shirley! I use Hayloft sometimes, but was lucky this year to visit a local GC early in March (before the lockdown), so was able to get about two dozen plug plants. My garden is going to look a picture, ha ha.

Well done! It's blinkin' cold and windy down here this morning - no outdoor jobs will be done until tomorrow.
29 Mar, 2020
Freezing here too and ferociously windy. Crosswords and emails for me today ... luckily OH did the ironing yesterday!
29 Mar, 2020
Lucky you Sheila - I think Michael last used the iron in the 80's - :o(
We have had a couple of hail storms in the past hour (2.30pm) ... then the sun shines ... strange weather!

Enjoyed looking round your garden Sheila and great to see so many cuttings in the greenhouse all waiting for the better weather and a place in the garden ... with your help of course.

Thanks Phyl ... each evening now I cover those little plants with fleece ... don’t want to lose them.

Lovely blog Sheila. I particularly appreciated the sunshine! Its gloomy here. Now, my primula sieboldii has only got about an inch of growth showing. That shows how far behind you we are! Its lovely frilly foliage though isn’t it. :)
