:( I hope you're all right Sheila, it's dangerous weather :(
No snow here but I've had enough of this now :(

Thank you Hywel, yes I’m fine and even smiling 🙂.

You're doing more than me lol ...

12 Dec, 2022

… I’m trying to imagine you with a grumpy face lol.

we had no snow - garden looks pretty and festive :) Mild weather awaiting - windy but mild

12 Dec, 2022

Nice to look at, nasty to be out in it though. We were so lucky to have escaped the heavy snow that East Sussex and Kent had yesterday. Only had some sleet/rain for a couple of hours, phew!

I'm inclined to agree with Hywel regards the snow! I don't mind looking at it from the inner side of a window in a warm room but I don't particularly like having to go outside in it unless it's really necessary!

Snow here today! ❄️🌨️

We've been frozen since last Weds, freezing fog is the worst especially for the drivers and we are getting a lot of that, so stay safe if you do have to travel folks, we had a snow shower this morning, nothing as bad as other places but it is expected, the sky looks full of it......Forgot to say Sheila, the photographs are lovely, if it comes I have to get up early to get some shots of our garden before the dogs go out and spoil the pristine look, they will love it though ......

Thanks Paul, Shirley, Balcony, Sue and Julia … no, I don’t remember only having black and white photos … not ideal for showing gardens!

Thanks Klahanie. Yes, I put on my old snow boots, scarf, coat and hat - oh and gloves, and took the photos with my iPad. I’ve discovered that I can see what I’m “shooting” better than with my little camera. It was fun crunching through the snow (briefly!). xx

12 Dec, 2022

It’s weird everywhere Klahanie - the Downunderlings are experiencing hail and cold rain when it should be summer. Milder weather here will be most welcome 🙂.

I quite like looking at clean pristine snow and being the first to walk on it. But not keen when it is compacted or slushy and dirty.

However think of the benefits to the garden; the cold will: help stratify seeds so they germinate freely, kill off some pests: help break up the soil to improve structure and air flow etc.

WE are having freezing fog for some of the day but the hoar frost looks amazing.

You’re right Eileen … well said.

I have always had my eye on one of those mountain towns in Central America where the weather is eternal spring. I was never able to up anchor. Right now it is -2C

13 Dec, 2022

You probably did the right thing Loosestrife, staying put.

13 Dec, 2022

Yup, your right. A military junta can change the climate quite quickly.

13 Dec, 2022

Snow here Sheila but only a light dusting ! It does look so pretty though and love your pictures.

14 Dec, 2022

Very little settled snow here, just some long days of freezing. Walking out certainly freshens you up and adds a sharpness to the surroundings Great pics. Sheila.

14 Dec, 2022

Thanks very much, Rose and Ange. We’re lucky to look out on many lovely trees in the view from our windows, and they did look beautifully white in this morning’s sunshine 🙂.

14 Dec, 2022

Lovely photos in black & white. I too like walking in pristine snow but we only got a sprinkling here in Surrey. Plenty of time yet though, I guess.

14 Dec, 2022

Thank you Josee.

15 Dec, 2022

Lovely to look at Sheila, saying that, we've only had thick frost here, -5 this morning though..:(
Keep snug x

15 Dec, 2022

Thanks Janey. Same here, -5, and I’m off out for the first time this week… can’t miss a jolly lunch!
Keep safe and warm. x

The pictures of the plants cover in snow are pretty but they are also very cold!

The snow that fell here over Sunday night Monday morning is very slowly melting away. As we all know it then freezes again during the night & makes going out the following day quite dangerous.

Although I've had to out a little in it I've walked slowly & carefully so as to not fall over.

But all my plants are frozen solid! I don't even know if the Pansies will survive.

15 Dec, 2022

The pictures look ‘black and white’ by chance … they would have been prettier if I’d waited for a ‘blue sky day’, but the thick snow looked so appealing that I just couldn’t wait. I hadn’t realised that they would look so cold Balcony!

I was out yesterday, and also walking very slowly and carefully. Hopefully things will improve next week.

16 Dec, 2022

Fortunately we are forecast milder weather for Sunday afternoon & all day on Monday. That will give us the opportunity to assess my plants to see if any have survived!

16 Dec, 2022

I thought the photos were taken in b/w. They look good that way, makes a change from coloured photos.
My Pansies are frozen too & I don’t know if they will survive or not.

16 Dec, 2022

Looks beautiful, Sheila!!!! Definitely looks like Christmas has come to you early...
We've not had any snow.. yet. I'm hoping we don't see any, I don't enjoy driving around in ice, snow or freezing fog. I'm not keen on December or January, even February...apart from the festive week...

17 Dec, 2022

Thanks Kate 🙂🙂. My worst month is November, so I’m happy that we’re past that, and come January I start to look forward to Spring. Stay safe!

17 Dec, 2022

We are nearly at the shortest day Sheila and I always feel that that is a step in the right direction!

I wonder if your snow has all but disappeared now? Ours has, but the ice on our pond was so thick that there is still some left on it. Your photos were lovely ones.

18 Dec, 2022

Chris, yes, very suddenly … still thick and white last night, then rain and now all gone!

19 Dec, 2022

Christmas Eve in my area it is predicted that the temperature will go from 56F/19C to 19F/-7C within a matter of a few hours along with 50mph winds with severe thunderstorms. Now that is going to be some roller coaster ride if that weather forecast turns out to be correct.

19 Dec, 2022

Our snow & ice also disappeared overnight! It was also the first frost free night for a couple of weeks! Today the temps here are around 13C with lots of clouds & strong winds. Other than very early on this morning we have had no further rain today.

Only a couple of days left in this year's autumn & what an autumn it has been! From summer-like temps in November to winter-like conditions in early December! I now wonder what's in store for the next 3 months! 🤔
