Progress on my neighbour's garden..

As many of you are already aware I have been tackling my neighbours garden, which has become very overgrown. Both of them have major health problems and their sons not only live quite a way off, but also have families and jobs which means although they are doing their best for their parents, the garden has been somewhat neglected. The lawn is cut regularly and the tomato plants watered etc. Other than that, things have been left. It’s such a shame as the couple loved their garden in the past. I offered to help…I thought you might like to see the progress so far…and what there is still to be done.

This used to be a veggie plot

This is how it looks now

This is the area I plan to work on next..

Wish me luck!!

A great job there,Waddy, and in this heat too !I was about to ask what it would be used for now,but Sue has asked already..Your neighbours must be over the moon, and such a relief to see how it is now..heartbreaking for a gardener, not to be able to look after it anymore..

Thanks for all your kind comments. The gentleman, who's name is Donald has actually cried and told me I'll get my reward in heaven, bless him. His wife was unfortunately sectioned this week, suffering with Alzheimer's poor lady. I've no intentions of planting anything yet, in the veg plot, until I've sorted out the rest of the gardens problems. Later, if Donald wants me to, I'll take my cue from him. Once again thanks for your kind and encouraging comments.

PS. For those eagle eyed amongst you, the arch with the Clematis growing over it, just visible behind the fence...that's my garden lol! Just handy for my OH to pass me welcome cups of tea!!

How sad for your lady neighbour Waddy. What a good job you are prepared to help to keep the garden tidier. It looks like hard work too. I have done this twice and it sure is hard work. Fortunately in one case family could take over after a while and my sister in law found a decent gardener when I had got her garden sorted.
