Feeding the birds

We decided to add a couple of quick and easy feeding sites for the small birds. Take one plant pot, a block of wood that fits in the base of the pot, a decent length screw and driver. Send him out in the snow to put it up.
Mark 1 was well received.
The gaffer tape is to give the birds some grip and seems to work well. Too well – the blackbirds tried it too!
Mark 2 was designed to keep the larger birds out
This coal tit seemed pleased.
The blue tit just wanted to know if her bum looked big in this!
The thrush was just pleased to get an uninterrupted meal.
All done and dusted!

Him of course,Spritz - isn't it always the male of the species who come up with these ideas? So he tells me anyway! LOL
Thanks, Lincs and Joanella. Yes, I thought so, Drc.

What a brill idea.

The simplest ideas are the best they say, but it takes a clever mind to think of them. Pity that the process of getting a patent costs a fortune, because it is so good.
Lovely photos too Wagger, and what a stamp of approval is that.

So sweet I love it you look like you have some fun feeder in your yard I love them I have some too.

Hywel ~ it can take the birds a liitle while to find food where previously there was none. Don't give up, they will appreciate it when they do find it! Then you'll have to keep it up! :o)

I think patenting it is a good idea but your too late to stop me and about a 1000 others following your example.

What a marvellous idea, obviously the birds thought so as well.Lovely photos.

If we do patent it the idea will be free to all GOY members. LOL I'm sure this is not the first time it's been done. Thanks again for your comments. I love the little coaltits, Janey but they move so quickly they're difficult to capture - the pot captured this one for me. :-))))
