Scilly in September.

We had a really enjoyable short break on the Isles of Scilly recently and eventhough there were fewer flowers than at other times of the year, the islands were still very beautiful, each in their own ways.
Early morning on the quay at St Marys.
Where shall we go today?
TRESCO.
Tresco is the most manicured of the islands and is famous for the Abbey Gardens. We decided against an autumn visit because they are at their best earlier in the year I think.
The following morning, back on St Marys.
Where shall we go today? The sky looks threatening but it can soon change over here!
ST AGNES I think.
St Agnes is the most westerly of the islands. It is more rugged with a weather-beaten beauty.
The third morning on St Marys. It was very calm, sunny and warm.
ST MARTINS today definitely!
St Martins has the most outstanding beaches of white sand with glittery particles in it and beautiful shells.
Our final morning on St Marys. The tide was very low. The boats were filling up quickly.
Where shall we go today?
HOME I’m afraid!
Thank you for coming with me. I hope to return.
x
SOLUTION: I don’t have to go home after all :-))

It is a 2 hour drive to the tiny airport at St Just near Lands End and the flight takes only 15 minutes!

That looks just wonderful, Wildrose! You must have had a lovely time - it looks just like my sort of place. Perhaps I'll make it some day. We usually head in the completely opposite direction, to the Black Isle.

You too make a great double act!!!
Can't write a lot more because I got a wasp sting on my finger and it hurts when I remove the bag of frozen peas!
:-(
Inclement weather on the way so dreams of toplessness ( no such word) will have to be put on one side!!
