An update on what is happening in my garden,at the moment..and sorry, there are a lot of photo’s..so if you will bear with me?

Astilbe….,lots more flowers this year,but shorter..with a Pieris behind,that has had a serious hair cut…all old thick stems,now removed ..the same to another one,and a Weigela…“I started so I finished” :o)

A White Astilbe, given to me by Carole ,as a small rooted cutting early this year..I can’t believe how much it has grown in a pot..no flowers this year, but high hopes for next year. Ballet Girl Fuchsia,in the front, just getting past its best now..another gift from Cinderella..:o)

Fuchsia ‘Lena’ a gift from Steragram,.(and a cutting of it in a pot.).with an Imperata,Red Baron grass..given to me by my friend in Lincs,a couple of weeks ago ….

’Small border, with Nepeta (from Carole) ,Golden Oregano (Cinderella ) a division from the original..I love this ..and Empress of Prussia Fuchsia..of which I have five.! another firm favourite..and yet again,a gift from a friend, many years ago, when we first moved here..

My £2 Acer, from Morrison’s this year, putting on lovely new growth..this will be taken inside over the coming winter(sorry to mention that guys)..and coupled with Heuchera’s ..again,gifted from Cinderella..:o)

Polemonium(Jacob’s ladder) plus another Heuchera( three guesses who from ? ) :o)

Now,contrary to what you might be thinking,I DO actually buy ,or grow some of my own !

Zinnias..I shall sow these again next year, but maybe I should have nipped them out? I haven’t grown them before,so advice please ..

Cosmos, which have seemed very late in flowering this year..

Miscanthus Zebrina (Zebra Grass ) doing well in a pot after dividing last year..

Clump forming Bamboo..been in this large pot for years..and the old fashioned Monbretia,as it was known, sneaking in from next door :o)

Shall we move on,or are you fed up ? go on then, take a break and enjoy a quick cuppa, with Thomas …:o))

Feel better now? ok,we will move round to the front..
Crocosmia..unknown,just starting to flower, now the ‘Lucifer’ has finished..good timing :o)

Echinops still doing well, against the ghostly white of Honesty, now that they have shed their seed casings..don’t tell anyone, but I have helped them along, standing with a bucket underneath,to catch all the seeds ! Lol..Crazy,or what?

Achillea..with more of that darned Honesty ! only kidding,I love it really :o)

..and lastly, you will be pleased to hear,my original “Empress of Prussia”Fuchsia, aged about 11 years, and whose children have travelled far and wide over the years, but still some remaining close to Mum..
I hope you haven’t been bored,but I prefer to post all on a blog,rather than individual photo’s

Thank you for taking the time to read..xx

How lovely to have so many pretty plants from friends dotted about your really splendid garden.
I agree with BA, everything in our garden is looking a bit tired now and yet yours looks so fresh and full of colour.
I really like those zinnias - aren't they sweet?
Love the pic of Thomas, I like that sort of ride - nice and gentle!!

How lovely all your plants are love that honesty is it easy to grow ? Oh and Thomas looks like he is enjoying that ride :-)

What a great selection Bloomer - they all look incredibly healthy. An old neighbour had a bit of an obsession with Honesty - thankfully it didn't thrive in her garden!
I love the last Fuschia. I hope your Astilbe flowers for you next year.

Eh up to you too,Ba..:o)now you know I don't do much else when the weather is so inviting outside,so it is inevitable it looks tidy..thanks for your pm .x
......
Thank you Chris, and I really do appreciate all the lovely plants that I've received..and enjoyed sending them too..just a shame the cost of posting them, has got so expensive...The Zinnias were only 39p per packet from Aldi..:o).Thomas loves that ride in the park..he looks such a little dot in it! Lol..
.........
Thank you Kidsgran..if you would like some seeds,PM me your address..so easy to grow, just throw em in,where you want them to flower..He did enjoy the ride, and chose that over a train ride..:o)
........
Thank you Carole, what a shame your Nepeta's have disappeared..this one in the border has done much better than the ones I planted in pots with a Fuchsia..and I thought I had lost the Acer,as the old leaves all shrivelled up in the heat..then this new stem appeared,..I am so pleased..I'm sure we will have a good display with our Astilbes next year ..have faith my friend :o) ah,our little smiler had a good time..wanted to go much faster !
...........
Thank you Scottish, the good weather has helped a lot this year, and all the rain we had beforehand..I can see what you mean about the Honesty..I use it mainly as a gap filler, and am selective when I see the seedlings appearing..I only leave them if they are in the right place!.but I love the purple flowers in Spring, and at this time of year too :o) .Glad you like the Fuchsia, and I shall look forward to seeing the Astilbe in flower next year..I shall move it into a border before long..
........
Thank you Moti..I'm glad you enjoyed the blog and pics..Thomas is shooting up just now..and has passed his once taller best friend :o) We haven't seen a photo of Remi for a while,or have I missed one?

Thank you Louisa, but not all my Fuchsias have done well this year ..so you aren't on your own..My Pink Galore looks positively straggly with not many flowers ..I haven't bothered taking cuttings of it this year,as it wasn't brilliant last year either..so time for something new;o)
.......
Lol,Waddy, and thank you..I thought you knew my back garden extended as far as Greenhead Park? :o)..as if !
I haven't forgotten about the Cerastium (Snow in summer) I promised you..it's just got going again recently..unless you have already got some now,or changed your mind?..let me know if you still want some
erm..blooming Bloomer? that is sooo bad ! Lol.

22 Aug, 2013

I love the Astilbe and Fuchsia too but the best pic is Thomas in the tea cup. Going to try and catch up now after feeling a bit down and out of it for a while. It's amazing how a garden can turn into a jungle when you feel too rough to sort it for a couple of weeks Lol! Yours looks immaculate ;O))))xx
